This is the lamp shade on the ceiling light fixture in our living room. We wanted something earthy and southwest looking, though it's a little "Frank Lloyd Wright" in some ways too.

Thanks for your kind comments/faves if you wish to leave them for me.

Characterful faces for local photo comp, shots taken in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.

Not the greatest of shots but I was struck by how pale this Buzzard was.

Footnote: speaking to someone at work and mentioned this. He tells me that a 'white' Buzzard had been seen regularly about 10 miles north of here last winter and was frequently and wrongly reported as an Osprey. At least I didn't make that mistake but when I was checking ID I did notice how similar the markings were to that of an Osprey

A cool shaded archway, quite a delight to get of the blazing sun, albeit perhaps only briefly. A covered walkway between to old buildings, they knew how to build back then.

in a container. An old glass lightshade.

Spotted [half hidden] on a very hot day in Southport's Botanic Gardens.

Country walk in the Yorkshire Dales at Bolton Abbey, North Yorkshire, England.

Male Stonechat flitting around and calling repeatedly

I was walking past a bramble bush by the towpath on the Exeter canal when I heard a 'check-chack-chack' alarm type of call. I thought it was probably a Blackbird but suddenly this little Wren popped on to the top of the bush, sat for about two seconds then disappeared. I decided to stay to see if he/she would pop out again. Ten minutes later and three more fleeting glimpses, these are the result.

Not only Europe's smallest bird but perhaps one of the hardest to photograph (unless I was just having another bad day!) Goldcrest taking a very brief break from driving me nuts with its constant movement in the trees and bushes

I was taking a tea break from my walk around Slimbridge when this Goldfinch popped on to a nearby thistle seed head, posed for a moment then flew off

Here's a quick peek at the Rose Garden in Hesketh Park, Southport.

Spent most of the day chasing Waxwings around Devon to no avail. Had to settle for this distant view of a Black Necked Grebe. Ah well.....

This is one of the several Thrashers that visited our feeders this afternoon. I am thinking that he or she is a juvenile as its breast seems not to have as much white as I’ve seen before. My little Sony was zoomed out pretty far for this photo.

Urrgghhh - feeling like a drought has hit me re ideas for my 365!

So last night was marginally better in the sleep department as I was only whacked in the face by my sleeping niece twice and asked 'what are you doing' while she was sleep talking - lol!

My other niece showered me with little love gestures, such as a picture with love hearts all over it written to me and then she went and made me a glass of squash with ice cubes and straws saying 'this is for you because I love you'

It really is the little things in life that mean the most.
