Hand lit long exposure with no editing or adjustment to levels etc. Just a minor crop and water mark as if that matters a single jot.
View large to drink in the detail.
I was given a can by the kind man in the Petrol Station in exchange for putting "Out Of Order" signs on four pumps as he was unable to leave the till unattended. I took it home and shot it in under long exposure.
Oh no ! I have two red images in a row in my photostream. Not good for my OCD.

At this time of year in the UK, we celebrate Guy Fawkes Night on November 5th. It's a traditional night celebrating the capture, hanging, drawing and quartering of Guy Fawkes in the 17th Century. It might seem a little macabre to celebrate the death of anyone but it seems Guy was a particularly bad lad!
One of the benefits of Guy Fawkes night is that my local supermarket stocks small, cheap fireworks which don't burn for too long and are suitable for this kind of shot. I have stocked up a few boxes!
Lightpainted these falls a while ago now with Arun & Paul and have reprocessed it much lighter with the new desktop we have now.I think the laptop Ive been using for the last few years seems darker with a yellow cast over it.
This seems much better....?
The shot was lit with a strong torch....lightstencil from bucket in forground....an orb under the falls & a full moon that popped up in the right spot right on que.
Sat at my desk on a Sunday morning with a Sony 90mm macro lens and an excellent lightpaintingbrushes fibre optic brush.
No Photoshop, no AI, all shot in camera.

Sherwood Forest as you have probably never seen like it before.... Another one of those shots which took some extreme effort on my part to bag! Rob Bates dragged an OAP lightpainter out for a very long walk in the dark woods of Sherwood Forest. I'm definitely feeling my age after that trek! Shot in one photographic exposure as usual.
Macro Mondays 'wheel(s)' theme.
A motorbike keyring.
The part of the motorbike showing in the image measures 4 cm
Light painted still life with Turkish pots, Turkish delight, dried apricots, crystallized ginger and figs.
You guessed it, I revisited this amazing sea sculpture for the last 4 days...irresistible.
The tides were just right and so was the weather and the clouds

100 shots stacked with startrails, lightpainted arches, burned and dodged to bring out details, and to add depth-Getty image
Fibre optic lightpainting combined with freehand camera rotation, a lens and tripod swap then a kinetic pan of the camera. All shot in one exposure. It did take a few attempts to get the damn thing lined up!
From a recent excursion in the dark with Tim Gamble and James Mills; lighting and net curtain waving by Tim, standing still duties by James....it seems all too easy to stand and trigger the cameras....
I have passed this ,what I believe is an, abandoned irrigation water pump several times during the day and always visualized shooting it at night with some colored light painting technique. It looks almost more like some sculpture than a piece of equipment to me. For the light source I used the taillights from my vehicle.
One of the really great things about the world pf lightpainting is being able to collaborate with other lightpainters in the dark. Last night was no exception where myself, Tim G and Tom Hill assembled at the Chee Tor Tunnel No.1 in the Derbyshire Peak District.
The usual routine for these collaborations is for one person to create a lightpainting image and the others present help where needed in replacing lens caps or waving lights in the dark.
I went first on the evening and this is what I bagged (and without too many attempts either)
Taking advantage of a conveniently placed plinth amongst these concrete structures, no levitation was involved in the making of this photo!
Lightpainting with smoke pellets and strobe lights, this image is shot in one photographic exposure. After all these years doing this stuff, I still feel compelled to say this does not involve Photoshop or AI.
I often ponder what title to choose for an image I post to Flickr. If I ever get to experience time travel then I imagine it would be explosive and possibly as colourful as this!
Lightpainting photography with lasers and a camera rotation tool captured in one single photographic exposure. None of that AI funny business here!
If someone asked me what light painting was (and I didn't know any different) then this is what I would describe it as. Literally waving lights at stuff in the dark....
The wrecked fishing boat at Sandy bay under a full moon, with a little light painting thrown in for good measure ;-)
While most people will be celebrating with a small drink at home or maybe a larger one at a club, I chose to spend my New Year's Eve under the M1 motorway with a camera rotation tool!
I used a Denis Smith orb tool spinning circles at different angles while moving towards the camera. All shot in one photographic exposure as usual.
Happy April Fools.
Acitrezza, Sicily, these photos are bizarre but not fake, just HDR'ed and lightpainted, with liberal use of Lee filters.
It's been a while since I used my camera rotation tool and it was good to get back on the lightpainting horse!
Camera rotation and lasers all shot in one photographic exposure. No AI either....
Chasing a storm on Saturday, I stopped on a side road, just south of York. I wanted to capture some lightning but with some light painting in the same frame...
Any Who... Every time I lightpainted, no lightening and vice Versa and the storm moved away very fast :-(
Oh well, with the magic of PP.... I decided to combine two shots to come up with this ;-)
Another one from last night's collaboration with Phill Fisher, James Lawn and Tim Gamble faffing in a dark Derbyshire cave...
The Lychgate and Churchyard at St Anne's Church, Baslow lightpainted with a Led Panel. The Yellow lighting is from a street light.
From last night's epic collaboration with Tim G, Phil F and Denis Smith.
This was a team effort with Phil on the smoke, Tim aiming the flash and Denis kindly posing under the derelict mine winch gear (or whatever it's called).
I shot a couple of versions with a fractal and the red worked better than the blue white.
I spent some quality time out at Double Arch a few nights ago. This is a merge of somewhere around 30 exposures. I started with the foreground. There was no moon, so the arches had to be completely lightpainted with a flashlight. I shot a few dozen different exposures as the last of the dusk light was fading and blended a few of my favorites for the foreground. Then, once the last of the light had faded from the sky I set the timer to do 24, 5 minute exposures which I then merged in Photoshop to create two hours worth of star trails for the background.
Lightpaint marathon, night 4 of 8, scene 1.
While driving to the "Schwarzenbergkanal" i recognized a small creek following our route. After a while i stopped and found this place ! :-)
I also took some images while daylight here, but it´s a huge difference in atmosphere between daylight and the lightpainted one. Gina is very great, she escort´s and assist´s me during the lightpaint marathon, nearly nothing was planed. Thank´s a lot !!!
Pay close attention!
This is a shot which has been on my to do list all year long since I saw these concrete steps over at Harboro Rocks in the Peak District. I've not been back here in quite a while and tonight was the perfect excuse to nail it!
This is a camera rotation image where the camera is rotated during a continuous, single exposure. No Photoshop or any of that AI nonsense!
