Orb on the beach next to the derelict Steetley magnesite works at Hartlepool. Not one of my best orbs as I hit the sand with the lights causing the top to go a bit out of sync. I quite liked the overall effect though & will try this again sometime for sure.
Thanks to all of the Amble tog's who came down from up North to visit the area, a cracking bunch of peeps indeed :-))
Built around 1820 sits on the riverbanks at Durham City. I couldn't resist light painting it last night after work :-)))))))
Damn spooky part of town, pitch pitch black, didnt hang about too long. I kept hearing large splashes in the river which I think were fish jumping, made me jump too!!! LOL ;-)

Another from last nights brief sojourn down the beach... Need to keep the momentum now, and find somewhere else to go for a spin too.
(taken on one exposure, no additions after the exposure. I will adjust levels, saturation, white balance, brightness and some minor cropping if required.)
Around 4 am in early morning, I light-painted a light orb while I shoot long exposure at the Quad at University of Washington. The exposure was 187 seconds long. Little over 3 minutes. The cherry blossoms are not full-bloomed yet. I will come back soon other time perhaps within a week or so.
Who would have guessed. Out with the honey creating balls of light around the town tonight. It was a blast! He is awesome for making the tool that draws these balls of light.
Myself & Dave met up with light painter extraordinaire Mr Hob who had kindy offered to show us the way into this underground location for some exploration & general light faffery.
Watching Mr H work his magic in the creation of these images was a real pleasure to behold, & I think the quality of the images speak for themselves.
Check out Dave &Hob 's photostreams for some more excellent images :-)
Went out for a night with the cameras and the sky was rubbish, so drove round looking for a subway tunnel that wasn't lit to try just to try some orbbing.
Another image from our club shoot. In this image, Deborah Tate was our light spinner. We all set our cameras on bulb and then we'd cover the lens while she repositioned the light. We did this 3 times.
123 seconds, f4, ISO160......moon about 99% full.... while the K7 was doing noise reduction, on the previously posted image, I brought out the K20 for a bit of ORB fun..... played with a few different lights, the blue was my favourite......
below are a couple with different lights....
Nipped out for 30 mins light painting this evening. This was shot on a local dry ski slope. The moon was rising nicely in the background. Tonight I tried some new light painting single LEDs that were attached to the metal cable I constructed for my steel wool shots. I also used two different coloured LEDs for the first time to create a multi coloured effect.

SB-700 camera left at some setting or another triggered via nikon CLS at the start of the exposure. Shadows bought out slightly during RAW conversion.
Very first outing with the Ball of Light Tool, made and designed by Denis Smith which arrived from Australia last week. The tool comes with interchangeable heads for a variety of colours and textures.
Still got lots of learning to do and practising to make the perfect orb rather than some of the ones I did last night which had flat tops, or were elongated in other ways, but looking forward to perfecting my technique and creating orbs in various lcations around Dorset and beyond.
2 min. @f4, 200 ISO.... Light Orbs..... orbs like these have been photographed numerous times in Australia, New Zealand, U.K., many European countries and the US, but this is first time I have seen them here in Canada..... these Light Orbs are quite elusive and it has been said they can only be photographed by night photographers.... these 2 were poorly formed as it was there first appearance.....
today is our 41 anniversary, so we did something we both enjoy, night photography till 3 am :)
... to Neu-Ulm, Germany. The green light orbs. With fire and ice. Or at least wire wool and slippery water. ;-)
Ball of Light at the Lifeguard Station.
Still practising with the Denis Smith Ball of Light Tool.
This time at the RNLI Lifeguard station Alum Chine Beach.
This is a 3 mintues 10 seconds exposure which is why you see the stars trailing a fair bit.
From a while back I think.... Sat in with poorly children so whats a man to do than search the archives to see if theres anything that takes my fancy a second time around.... Somethings are best left for a while I find.
Taken during a trip to Tregantle Beach with Dan Sharp last weekend. One of my better orbs so far.
