Alvin and the Chipmunks (Harris's antelope squirrel ) are Kung Fu fighting and moving fast as lightning in Golden Valley, Arizona,
Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those kicks were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightening
But they fought with expert timing
For any of you that are unfamiliar with Alvin and the Chipmunks here are the chipmunks singing Kung Fu Fighting and a few cute pictures of their movies. My favorite pictures are the first one and the last one.

One of my favorite lightning strikes from Ord, Nebraska on June 1st, 2018. This was the "Tail End Charlie" storm that stayed discrete for a while after everything else had gone linear. The bolts it produced were incredible...ly close. If you want to see a time lapse and more of my top images, follow the link below.

July 4th, 2019, giant lightning bolt like a large hand with finger bolts in the sky over McIntosh Lake, Longmont Colorado, Boulder County. This was a great storm to photograph, it was the storm that kept giving in all directions,. We had massive rain before fireworks and then this show that went on well after midnight.
Feels great to get back out there! Been a lot going on I will update when things calm down.

P-38 Lightning and F-35A Lightning II diverge from one another during a monumental Heritage Flight at the 2016 Luke AFB Open House Airshow.
In the (till now) extremely dry summer of 2018, an evening thunderstorm formed unexpectedly just south of Rotterdam.
I took my car and together with my son we drove to a nearby lake, just north of Rotterdam to capture some lightning shots in the evening light.
Before the rain arrived last night the storm seemed to hang overhead and bolts flew from cloud to cloud. This is the total from 7 x 10 second exposures looking straight up.
Revision lightens and goes more cool tones.
As the storm moved out of my frame, darkness allowed for a better capture of the cumulo-nimbus cloud in this 4 stacked image.

Picture of the lightning storm I witnessed in February. A combination of six seperate shots.
Taken at Warnbro Beach, WA, Australia
Taken with a Canon 1100D with standard lens.
Single shot. Camera set to ISO-100 then put on continuous exposures with shutter speeds of between 10 and 20 seconds.
It was bucketing down so lots of issues with water on the lens I'm afraid!
Lightning illuminated strom cloud with Aurora Borealis above and rain below. - Near Golata Creek, BC
For the time of year rather active thunderstorms just off shore over the North Sea.
This traveling lightning bolt is some 30-40 miles away from my location, so I had to use a short telephoto lens to capture the bolts.
Was able to capture the only lightning bolt near my home in a storm the passed through around 11pm on 7/3. Much more rain and lightning to my north and south so I was fortunate to capture this one. Note also the scud clouds in the image as well.
A crazy lightning storm is blowing through Colorado tonight!! The city of Westminster is seen at the bottom of the frame. Thanks for stopping!!! Here it is on my site shotwilliam.smugmug.com/Other/Lightning/18846519_n8znkk#!...
A stack of 4 images was used to produce this composite. Taken near Santa Fe, New Mexico at about the time of sunset.
Oh, and that's a large spider in the upper left.
While I missed the Perseid Meteor Shower, I was treated to a supercell with continuous lightning for over an hour.
