Chartered Bank's original Tianjin office in the city's foreign banking street has been preserved, though today it is used as a post office of China Post. Some of the original furniture, furnishings and fittings remain in the office. The building is well worth the look - it is like walking into a time capsule.

Broken Hill is located east of the Simpson Desert in Australia. Silver, lead and zinc were discovered here in vast reserves in the 19th Century and it has been a huge mining centre ever since. The entire city is dominated by mining, mining history, and the legacy of wealth resulting in fine monumental stone buildings in an unlikely desert setting.

We went there to see Blue Öyster Cult. It's a lovely old-fashioned art deco building (built 1934) of the type I thought had disappeared completely. When the lights came up I was taken by this light fitting and the gorgeous colour of the ceiling.

The terminal serves commuters traveling on the Metro-North Railroad to Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties in New York, as well as to Fairfield and New Haven counties in Connecticut. The terminal also contains a connection to the New York City Subway at Grand Central–42nd Street. Grand Central Terminal has intricate designs both on its inside and outside, lending to its landmark designations, including as a U.S. National Historic Landmark. The terminal is one of the world's most visited tourist attractions, with 21.9 million visitors in 2013.
Today saw a trip to Sandy to view the result of the decorating (and more) and it looks great.
This light fitting caught my eye. Normally something that throws patterns up on the ceiling would do my nut in, but in this small hallway it provides interest rather than distraction.
