An interior at 78 Derngate, Northampton. To a design by Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868 - 1928) for his visionary patron, Northampton model engineer, W.J Bassett-Lowke.
78 Derngate was the architect's final major commission, designed and remodelled by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1916, the house has been meticulously restored and opened to the public.

Saxo-Norman in origin the church lies 150 yards south of a moated manor site and near to a deserted medieval village. This early church was rebuilt in 1816 by Warren Hastings, the present building was designed by J.L Pearson for the stockbroker Harman Grisewood between 1859-63. It is a significant building in the Early French Geometrical style influenced by William Burges and indeed much of the carving is by Thomas Nicholls, Burges' favourite mason. Built without regard to expense, interior and exterior are virtually unchanged, a nationally important Victorian building with a contemporary decorative scheme. This includes a series of fine windows by Clayton and Bell.
However there is a serious doubt over the future of this magnificent church as it is in a poor state of repair.
I understand "Green" and all that but it's a shame they couldn't turn it on all night. Just dim it. That's green!
Cut a small square of foam bigger than the straw and centralise it. Glue the straw to the square with the strips aimed towards the corners of the lid. Stick a sharp piece of wood like a cocktail stick though the straw and into the lid. This is to strengthen the lightfitting so that should the light get accidentally knocked it won't break. Cut this of to match the top of the straw
New lampshade in my hall. The first one I have changed. Lots more to do.

The grand light fittings in the The grand entrance hall of Penrhyn Castle, North Wales. Penrhyn castle, a 19th century recreation of a Norman style castle. But this castle is a no expense spared Victorian era palace.

Light fitting above the stairwell, De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill.
Commissioned by the 9th Earl De La Warr in 1935 and designed by architects Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff, the De La Warr Pavilion was the UK‘s first public building built in the Modernist style.
I was trying to get a balance between the actual light source from the cap and the shadow on the roof above, without trying to over expose the light source.
