Starting a photo-a-week project. Who knows if I'll see it through to the end. Hopefully it will motivate me to take photos this year.
Im starting my project with one of my favorite photos I've ever taken. I think it was definitely worth the cuts from broken glass and the minor shocks. Note to self: Avoid trying to unscrew a broken lightbulb while the lamp is still plugged in.
The party was at a place called The Stables. It had a lot of older knick-knacks around and would be a pretty cool place for a man cave.
It just dawned on me, the day after I shot and posted this, where I saw it first. She did it so much better. I want to be Suttonhoo when I grow up.

Inspired by SteamedGlass on Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=7223482), I decided to make my own when my bedroom light burnt out. I made a stand out of a coathanger and planted some little mossy vegetation in there. A few days later, it was actually flowering!
This was taken at the Point Piños Lighthouse located on the northern most tip of the Monterey Peninsula. This marks the entrance to Monterey Bay and a definite hazard to the Mariner. The stone lighthouse was put into service in February 1, 1855. Everything from the building, lenses and prisms are original. It is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the west coast and is listed on the national register of historic places.

Got some great results with my off camera lighting.
