Richard Box' artistic display of 1301 fluorescent bulbs lit by the overhead high-power lines -- just from the ambient energy surrounding the lines.

Wireless transmission (intentional) and fluorescent bulbs were both invented by Nikola Tesla.

The fluorescent bulbs of Richard Box's display, "planted" in the ground to pick up "waste emissions from the overhead power lines", are in effect acting as wireless transformers as well, providing a graphic depiction of a phenomenon that could actually shed additional light on the mode of action of these other energy devices.

Box says, "There's sound as well as light - a crackling that corresponds to the flashing of the lights. There's a certain smell too, and your hair stands slightly on end."

Though the shows are at night, when the effect can be seen best, the fluorescent tubes are lit continuously, depending on the whether conditions. The dryer the air, the more the tubes act to collect the ambient energy. Humid air acts as a conductor to ground, tending to bypass the tubes.

Taken whilst looking for old records, in late December.

Taken in our kitchen this evening.

one of the colored lightbulbs hanging from our tree.

Took four shots with a view to using them as backgrounds for inspirational quotations.

How many times do I have to say it: Listen,

a whine in a bulb,

its hiss of life,

the fragile sister of the mosquito, the electric life of wings.

There is a wheel rut for each of us somewhere.

Look closely at the skein of eggs,

root the mud for a clamped oyster

fallen from a truck. Cover your nose and mouth

with both hands, and there,

in that shallow cup,

feel a buffalo’s breathing steam.

A toppled stone, its face veiled by weeds—

crouch. The blooms become helmets.

Allow for delirium, a thirst. Take in

so much sun that you feel a cold absence,

as if you’ve sipped a hole into the world.

Mr Lightbulb poops great ideas.

Home finally, to the warm basement and all my oddities.

I was putting crap up in my attic and I had to go get my camera.

I was gonna throw my old broken lightbulb away today... glad I checked the Daily Challenge subject right before! That was its last chance to shine!

Taken for ODC - When Lightning Strikes.

What started as an attempt to dump some bleach in the growing flood in our basement ended in me playing with lighting for a while.

Not pictured: Foul smelling water.

i don't usually get many bugs in my room, and less often, flies, but these last few days, I've gotten like a dozen flies in my room, and I can't figure out where they're coming from,

Natureally, I suspect that there is a dead body somewhere in the building ( ? ) !
