The construction site for the new ' Bell Lightbox' Condo and Cinema complex at King and John. A big hole in the ground.
These are 23W (100W equivalent) soft white CFLs with a 2700K color temperature.
Soft whites are easy to get; I can always swap in "cooler" colored bulbs (4000-6500K) for a more daylight effect later. What is important here is that this bulbs emit 1600 lumens each for a total of 16,000, which is well above the 10,000 lumens needed for SAD therapy.

An evening with Lytham St Annes Photographic Society. Big club, great evening, but I was so taken with their 'print lightbox'. I thought it was water cooled! But if leaky plumbing is your problem, clearly Lytham St Annes is the place to be.
I stripped the box to replace the white sheet with a white vinyl shower curtain. Since there was some interest in the construction, here it is!
The black is a piece of scrap ABS plastic I had laying around. Lets me attach different background easily. And the odd Y connectors on the top aren't required, they're just all Home Depot had that day. As a bonus, the screw-in part works great for attaching a clip lamp.
wow, the flickr lightbox seems to be optimized for the Apple MBP Retina! Great change from most website's photos now appearing blurry… However, the standard photo view in the photostream is still rendered at the usual pixel dimensions of 800px delivered by flickr and thus not taking advantage of the new display.
Hit "L" to see the amazingly sharp lightbox in the lightbox (only applicable for MBP retina users :-) )

The Lightbox is Woking's recently opened Museum and Gallery. The ground floor windows have ?prismatic glass - it looks all colours of the rainbow, but light passed through it is purple. A coat rack added its shadow.
