Detail of Lightbox: an exercise in the reuse of materials. This work was created by using panels from a larger art deco style window made in March 2008 that had been damaged. Mounted in a hand built Tasmanian Oak box these panels refract the flickering light of candles and accentuate their geometric design.

... more fun than wrapping presents!

Strobist: Cocoon 70 lightbox (borrowed), one 580EX camera front at 1/32 power

My new lightbox (plans courtesy Strobist). I'm lighting it with a 250-watt halogen work lamp on one side, and a 75-watt incandescent work light on the other. The camera's set to the "cool" light setting (I'm using a Panasonic Lumix LZ2). You can see a test photo here:

Trying some different techniques with my lightbox. Gave up on the shooting the light thru the slit in the back as no matter what I do, I get a crease when I do it. This is shot with a SB900 thru white brolly just camera right.

My lightbox made in about 5-7 minutes.
