Daydreams.
This one came to me whilst daydreaming today on my lunch.
My favourite kind of lens swap which is from macro to wide angle. Being able to get both perspectives in one frame in one exposure makes me happy.
I started with the macro element who's set up was much the same as two nights ago. Fiddled with the aperture until I got an exposure time of a second, started the exposure in bulb mode and capped the lens.
Led panels off, macro set up off the camera, Nikon 20mm taking its place and swapped tripods. Cap off, blade rotated, camera rotated and repeat until back at 0 degrees.
Single long exposure and all that biz.
One photography, only painting with light in darkness.
Done together with my friend and assistant KH Boecker.
Worked with the 10.000 lums Fenix LR35r, great for short and long distance illumination.

Built in the 1390's this castle has seen a lot. Apparently this doorway was added in the mid 1500's. Lit with a focus beamed light on a long pole. The lighting process is somewhat hit an miss, selectively lighting what I want to appear in the shot. Shot recently on a night out with my mate Paul.

Shot in one single exposure of just under 10 minutes.. first i cut a round piece of card the same diameter as the inside of my lens hood then cut a small hole into that and wedged it into the hood and took the first shot ( the red bit ) then lights switched out, removed the card and stuck a small dot on the centre of the lens to shoot the fizzy
One single long exposure. No photoedition : straight out of the camera except for contrast/crop.

I was sat on the couch an hour ago searching for inspiration when Lauren asked if she could help with tonight's shot.
Yes please :)
I focused on Lauren who was sat on a chest. Then set up the dlw on my second tripod. Next I worked out the rim light and portrait scanner settings, then the starbursts.
F8 on the Nikon and I opened the shutter and lit Lauren with 1 x Yongnuo 560iv with turquoise gel and snoot on full power. Next the www.lightpaintingbrushes.com portrait scanner which I moved around her head and shoulders. Next I span the dlw about 5 times quite quickly to fill the circle. Once the bitmap had played I changed aperture to f16 and did the little starbursts all around her.
Job done in 10 minutes and all is well with the world.....well almost.
