Every day I leave my praxis at lunchtime, grab my camera and walk through the city of Bochum, Germany just for one hour.
Trying to get a good shot, which is not so simple, because it is NOT a nice city !!!

My attempt to not photograph my hands quite so much crumbled once again this evening.
I thankfully rediscovered the 3d animations Hugo B very kindly shared with me a while back, deep in my phone's gallery.
One full rotation with simultaneous zoom pulls of that (cheers again Hugo) then a tripod swap to a predetermined spot, removed lens cap, cupped hands and fired the flashguns with the remote in my mouth. One through a beauty dish from above and the other gelled purple on the floor.
Worked best in monochrome and job is a good un.
Quite Dandelion like which is never a bad thing.

Great night out tonight with James Mills on the Monsal Trail in Derbyshire. This is an old lime kiln which is massive and sits very uncomfortably in a beautiful woodland setting. This was the last shot of the night after shooting various pov's outside. Lots learnt tonight especially on understanding how to read the histogram.
Orb spun and feet soaked followed by a swift waft over the walls with James' gelled torch.
A return visit is definitely on the cards both for this kiln and the tunnel which is further down the trail.
Cheers again James for a top night. Great stuff.

Evening all and I hope you are well. I thought it was high time I got my lazy arse off the couch and headed out into the night. Obviously with my best LP buddy Chris T and to one of my favourite tunnels.
Chris found this pose really easy due to the fact it took me about 10 goes to get it right. Got there in the end eh pal?
Headshot on tripod one lit with Chris' Godox mega flash. Lens cap on and swapped to tripod two. Vape filled atmosphere haloing me and 10 seconds of exposure. Lens cap back on, aperture and focus change and a swipe left and right of the www.lightpaintingbrushes.com glitter stick for some extra photons.
Single long exposure light art and fingers crossed Chris' vital signs have returned to a normal resting rate.
Always a pleasure to meet up fella and here's to the next one.

Sonntag, 14. Mai 2023 - das ehemalige U-Boot U17, ein Boot der Klasse 206A der Deutschen Marine (seit >10 Jahren außer Dienst gestellt), macht auf seiner Reise auf einem Ponton von Kiel bis nach Speyer auf dem Weg zum Technikmuseum Sinsheim nächtlichen Halt in Lahnstein am Rheinkilometer 585 (gegenüber Stolzenfels).
Light signature...
Gradually I understand how I can prevent the swastika look...It was a learning session... :) ,...that´s a shout out for another try!

La otra noche, en unas ruinas haciendo lightpainting, la habitación en la que estábamos comenzó a arder y allí, en medio de las llamaradas que nos envolvían, se nos apareció Guy Fawkes. Duró unos instantes, en seguida se desvaneció su figura y el fuego se apagó.
En Londres, en 1605, este conspirador católico inglés intentó destruir el parlamento, haciendo saltar por los aires el palacio de Westminster en un atentado con pólvora que nunca se cometió. Ahora, más de 400 años después, su espíritu se aparece en medio de explosiones...
The other night, in some ruins doing lightpainting, the room we were in burst into fire and there, in the middle of the flames that enveloped us, appeared Guy Fawkes. It lasted a few moments, then his figure faded off and the fire was extinguished.
In London in 1605, this English Catholic conspirator attempted to destroy the parliament, doing blow up the Palace of Westminster in an attack with gunpowder that never occurred. Now, over 400 years later, his spirit comes with explosions...
Graffiti and light in Kijkduin!
In the dunes of Kijkduin (near The Hague) lightart is placed in the shape of bulbs that continiously change color. Everybody who knows this phenomenon knows the effect of this lightart in the dunes, they make it a unique and wonderful scenery. Descriptions like picturesque and magical were given by the audience. Even during the day, when the lights are off, the (white) bulbs make it a special scenery. Combined with the constantly changing colors in daylight during winter, you'll quickly think you are in a lunar landscape!

I saw this light art installation online and couldn't work out how big it was from the photos, so I thought it needed a sense of scale; waiting for these people in the shot to stand still during the 0.3 seconds' exposure with the colour changing lights hitting the right combination was tricky!
The blurb:
"This large light installation comes to the UK for the first time for Winter Lights at Canary Wharf. On entering OVO, visitors are surrounded by light and soundscapes. Its dynamic form is a combination of 24 crossed spiral pairs based on the Golden Proportion that is present everywhere in the universe, from infinitely small in the DNA helix to infinitely large in the cyclical movement of planets and galaxies. Four artists created OVO: Mostafa Hadi and Pol Marchandise (Odeaubois) designed the sculpture; Koert Vermeulen (ACT Lighting Design) conceived the lighting design and Marcos Viñals Bassols (Art Director) shaped the global scenography."
