The light really is different on the Caribbean side of the island.
Not that I have any complaints about the light on the Atlantic side, but there's a faint but perceptible suffusion of gold shot through the whole palette here. Reminiscent of Italy. As Shelly said of Italy "... bathed in golden light."
Or perhaps it was Keats.
About
Taken after work tonight, I left work early when I saw the clouds were turning it on. I knew it was going to be low tide, but not this low!

The Morris Island Lighthouse is subject of a preservation campaign called "Save the Light." First operating in 1876, thel ight was decommissioned by the Coast Guard in 1962. The Morris Island Lighthouse Project is hoping to preserve the light.
I've been waiting for a suitable use for my son's bunny night light for some time now ! It finally came to me in an apparition whilst on the school run this morning. I can't begin to tell you how much surreal aggravation was involved here, but needless to say I would have made a very interesting study for someone watching the proceedings from the bushes. There's nothing quite like a bit of bunny rotating in a secured cemetery at Easter.
I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
Slight crop for centering purposes.
Enjoy your break.
Before chaos, there was perfect light;
Only light, there was no hint of darkness.
Nor was this moment ever in the past,
Nor can it ever be. Outside time
It simply is. Perfect. Eternal. Pure
Existence. What we, at every moment, are.
Still, we must move downriver. We are
Each, in the end, prepared to turn to pure
Terror at the raging lip of time.
How can we vanish, yet live on in the past?
Life only seems to flow towards darkness:
Open those seams, and you see only light.
Red in the west heralds motion's darkness,
Revealing glories millennia past.
As the Earth spins, so we spin through time;
In gravity's grip, no circle is pure,
No being is Being, yet by being we are
Eternal, forever an instant of light.
Given: that light can only be; that light,
As such, cannot not be; that in time lights are,
But then are not; that nonetheless they are pure
Rays racing far beyond the lips of time,
Infinite, irrevocable; that the past
Exists forever, as such; that darkness
Limits only one's perception of light.
Most experts claim the night is clothed in darkness;
Instinctively, they view the past as past.
Do not assume that what you see in time
Is what appears in visions cold and pure.
Eternal isn't only forever. We are
Living eternally now, fragments of pure
Light--the track, the train, the farmhouse time
Erased. No thing is ever nothing--not the past,
Not loved ones lost, not what we know as darkness.
With all the fresh snow it was a beautiful night,nearly bright as day,with the soft white light of the moon being reflected by the snow.This is the Full Moon of the 11th moon Ngetal(Reed) in the old celtic calendar the Ogham. This full moon was the original Celtic celebration of Samhain, the night when the veil between this world and the spirit world was thinnest, and the precursor of Halloween. It was also considered the first day of winter.

The figure on the right, who appears to be ingesting the ball of light, is my friend Zack. I have no idea when this photo was taken, but I feel like it must've been at some moment that was right. The light is beautiful, the silhouette is great, and the general feel of the photo is marvelous, and very night.

It wasn't the magic hour, but the light was killer. Colors were golden and shadows were long. Love shooting in this light.
In this shot, Jessie was scooting backwards as the water was coming in. It looked like she was doing a little dance. :) She had WAY too much fun at the beach. Weather permitting, I think we're going back again this Sunday.
When I was looking for a meter I would have been interested in the comparative sizes of the 385 and 758 Sekonics, but never found a picture of them both together. I still had a friend’s L-358 on loan when my L-758DR arrived, so I thought I’d put that to rights.
Strobist: Taken in a light tent with two 580EX2s mounted high and to the rear of each side. Triggered by Pocket Wizards It needed lots of subtraction to control the reflections, with a black card the full width of the front of the tent immediately below the lens axis, and angled to a point just out of shot in front of the meters. I’d have loved to drag the shutter and get the displays lit up, but I could not work out how to stop them timing out before I could get the front of the tent on and the tripod in place. This shot was taken hand held.
BTW - I cloned out the line between the base and backdrop, and the difference in the display readings is just how they read, and I assume down to the angles.
There is a 3 different sources of a light, one is a streetlight second one is from pillar of bridge and third one is a moon.
Don't worry, this is from the same night! I know it's a bit naff, but I'm putting these here so when i've done my proper shoot I can look back at at this and snigger!
Next time I know to wear black and to get further down or to have a longer cable (instead of attaching to the battery pack to the 'tool').
Diolch Yn Fawr (thanks in Welsh :p ) to all the light painting population on Flickr, you know who you all are :)
If it's nice/dry/ above Zero degrees for a change tonight, expect another epic shot! (lmao)
