Out for a walk yesterday evening, I used the X10 in its pro low light setting (3200iso) to snap this handheld, not bad for a pocket camera. See meta data: www.flickr.com/photos/railphoto/8119427727/meta/in/photos... However like minded photographer Andrew Sharp was sensible and used a tripod gaining a much crisper image.
Important neither of us was together or had planned this! Just coincidence and are just like minded photographers in Ely out and about!!

At munich airport i had to show that my camera was not a bomb or some other kind of terrorist thing. So they wanted to make a photo. Do not know why this was happened. I like it.
To further celebrate the eclipse - the eclipse photo series. A snoot and gobo helped direct the light.

Well !! many of you might be wondering what the hell this is ? Actually this is nothing but a light post in the middle of a bus stand near Mount Fuji, Japan. The bus stopped for 15 min for a break and I wondered in the market enjoying the area. It was a beautiful , cold morning and the structure caught my eyes, beautiful clouds in the background.....well !! the next part of the story is here.....

The aim was to illustrate a song with a picture, the title of the photograph was to be the title of the song.
I must admit I rather tried to illustrate the title through the composition, rather than the song's lyrics ;)

It was a cold night and as the sun comes up all the butterflies are hanging from mosses and branches like Christmas ornaments. So beautiful!
The Peleides Blue Morpho, Common Morpho, or The Emperor (Morpho peleides) is an iridescent tropical butterfly found in Mexico, Central America, northern South America, Paraguay, and Trinidad. Some authorities believe that peleides is a subspecies of Morpho helenor.
The brilliant blue color in the butterfly's wings is caused by the diffraction of the light from millions of tiny scales on its wings. It uses this to frighten away predators, by flashing its wings rapidly. The wingspan of the Blue Morpho butterfly ranges from 7.5–20 cm (3.0–7.9 in). The entire Blue Morpho butterfly lifecycle, from egg to adult is only 115 days. Morpho peleides drinks the juices from rotting fruits for food. Its favorites in captivity are mango, kiwi, and lychee. Morpho peleides butterflies live in the rainforests of South America and can be found in Mexico and Central America. The caterpillar Blue Morpho butterfly is red-brown with patches of bright green.
The Morpho peleides butterflies stick together in groups to deter their predators, a form of mobbing behavior.

Lit my candles tonight and thought this might look like and interesting photo. There is only one row of candles lit.
Part of the international celebration of light (an exhibition throughout Milano in December-09)
This is the piazza near outside the castle ... where there is conveniently located a very nice market for the holidays ... What makes this scene more interesting is that the lights on the castle change along with some music which is played over the loud speakers.
Light-painting. Thanks Lost America for the inspiration. Playing took place in a very light controlled environment.
The parts on the left (and top) are regular Tan / Brick Yellow. The Duplo figure on the right has Light Brick Yellow hair.
The liftarms on the right were probably factory quality rejects. They were given to a child that loved to build with LEGO Technic somewhere around 1997-1999. It is noticeable that both liftarms have slightly different shades, and both are clearly much lighter than regular tan.
Regular tan liftarms were used in sets in 2000, 2007 and 2009. It is possible that these parts were a production error for the 2000 sets.
The known Light Brick Yellow parts were made somewhere in the 2004-2006 period, but the colour might have been planned or used in prototypes earlier. That is another possible origin of these odd coloured parts.
