Location: Berlin - 2545km from home.
An awesome spot from one of the many Russian Republiks, here Tatarstan, a region that is ethnically divided in Tatars and Russians. Tatarstan is closer to the Kazakh border than it is to Ukraine. Interestingly, this Land Cruiser V8 is quite a large and expensive car to see, especially from a region like this. The car was bought at a dealer with several dealerships in the Volga Federal District, one of which is located in Kazan, Tatarstan's capital.

With WCRC getting its license back to operate on Network Rail, we see one of their first trains to operate on the network.
WCRC 57314 is seen at Scout Green with 5Z51. This is a stock move from Carnforth to Fort William for the summer season's Jacobite Steam service. Seen in lovely morning light at 0748 on the 16th May 2015

Spotted at Beau-Rivage Palace in the center of the city, this Andorran GLE! That's my highest plate from Andorra, they just started to issue the M series!

Our second night camping found us near the shore of this secluded small lake - one that has 15th-century castle ruins on an island in the middle. The views and the experience was fantastic, but the weather was poor (remnants of Hurricane Katie). Only a few minutes after we started packing up, the sun made it's first appearance in days. So, even though it was only 5 degrees (41F) we stopped for a few frames while sitting in the sun.
This is 4 frames ranging from 155 seconds to 180 seconds, all stitched to a very large 7242 x 5574.

Now, this little Ford Fusion was driving down the road with no problem. It did pass me on the right at one juncture. He has a tinted license plate cover. This is the exact location where I was pulled over by a nice LMPD officer who indicated he could not read my plates. He said there was a glare on it and he could not read it 300 ft. away. (Note - the sun was setting at the time). He said the plate cover had some mud on it.
I asked the nice officer if I could get out of the car so he could show me the problem. He said I could.
As I exited the vehicle he grabbed my arm, twisting it, and slammed me into the car and proceeded to cuff me, while stating, "Is this what you like?". I asked why he chose to do that. He said "Because you moved too slow". No, officer. I expect you to be able to see well, hear well and act professionally, as that is your job which you accept a salary for. Your job is not to rough up, bruise and maim individuals you believe you can for the "sport" of it. You were well aware I was not a threat to you and your partner. "Serve and Protect" - remember?
He then said I was being detained and walked me to the back of my car. He took my purse (fanny pack) with him into the patrol car and sat with it over 30 minutes. He did go through my address book as he commented on it's contents when he returned. I suggested to his partner perhaps this officer might want to invest in a good pair of glasses and hearing aids.
He gave me a ticket for "improper display of registration plates". This occurred on Good Friday.
I then drove to Auto Zone with the plate cover. Auto Zone stated they were legal in Kentucky but they did then replace the plate cover with a clear one at my request.
The man at Auto Zone told me he also had a problem, and then went on to tell me about the unlawful searches on others that have occurred here in Louisville. He said men and boys were being bodily searched, unlawfully, by police officers while on the road. This one was fairly recent: youtu.be/LtQG0JlCORI
I met a nice lady today who told me the same thing happened to her, and many of her Church friends. She says they just pay them and don't attempt to fight them, as they want a peaceful existence. Even though they did nothing wrong and the charge was false.
I am inviting others from law enforcement AND the military to visit Louisville - they are welcome to ride in the back seat of my vehicle, hunkered down, if/when the next violation occurs. Without identifying themselves, of course. Let's see if *they* get roughed up. I'm 5/2 and weigh 115 lbs. I wonder if they would do the same to someone who was a male, 6' weighing 250 lbs.
The above car doesn't seem to be having any problems.

Update: 16 November 2018
Appeared in court - with the help of an outstanding Pubic Defender (Christopher Schramm) all charges were dropped. The attorney also advised me of my right to institute legal proceedings against LMPD if I so chose.
It is indeed unfortunate those with any type of hearing, auditory processing or language barriers are not able to be aware of what, exactly, their rights are.

Update: April 14, 2023
In light of the recent horrendous mass shooting here in Louisville, KY this week on April 10, 2023, a good deal of retrospect is due. Sometimes seeing both sides of the fight to survive makes a world of difference. My heart breaks for this community, their families, the deceased but most especially for 26 year old LMPD Officer Nickolas Wilt, a rookie police officer who previously served as an EMT, firefighter, and emergency dispatcher and is now clinging to life today. We have shootings here every day but this one....this one hits home.
To the officers involved in my above encounter with them on April 16, 2018 - I do owe you both my sincerest apologies for what transpired. No harm done and I hope we can all rethink our roles in this world. Life is precious. Value it - I am thankful I am not walking in your shoes and proud that you do. Thank you. I do understand now how unimportant and petty the 04/16/18 incident really was and appreciate the learning opportunity from you all. You are indeed heroes.

Point Pelee National Park is a national park located in Essex County in southwestern Ontario, Canada where it extends into Lake Erie. The word pelée, is French for bald. Point Pelee consists of a peninsula of land, mainly of marsh and woodland habitats, that tapers to a sharp point as it extends into Lake Erie. Middle Island, also part of Point Pelee National Park, was acquired in 2000 and is located just north of the Canada–United States border in Lake Erie. Point Pelee is the southernmost point of mainland Canada, and is located on a foundation of glacial sand, silt and gravel that bites into Lake Erie. This spit of land is slightly more than seven kilometres long by 4.5 kilometres (2.8 mi) wide at its northern base.
Established in 1918, Point Pelee was the first national park in Canada to be established for conservation.
Point Pelee was made a national park in 1918 at the urging of birdwatchers and hunters. Commercial fishing continued in the park until 1969. Point Pelee was the only Canadian national park to allow hunting until duck hunting was ended in 1989. This site was named "Pointe-Pelée" (meaning "bald point" by French explorers because the eastern side was rocky and had no trees).
It forms the southernmost point in mainland Canada (its latitudinal position is the same as the northernmost counties of California) and is part of a bird and butterfly migration corridor over Lake Erie via Point Pelee and the Lake Erie islands. Over 360 bird species have been recorded in the park. The peak time for bird migration is spring, especially May, when tired migrants make first landfall after their journey north across the lake. Bird species include Cooper's hawk, painted bunting, and yellow warbler.
Many birdwatchers from North America and abroad visit the park in spring, often staying in the nearby town of Leamington. One attraction, apart from the sheer numbers and variety of bird passing through on migration, is the opportunity to see more northerly breeding species such as blackpoll warbler before they move on.

Last time I saw a Finnish plate was in June 2016... It was a long time! I saw this one at Kempinski Hotel in Geneva. I went to this parking lot to look for exclusive cars and plates from the Middle East (what I usually find there), but I went out of it with this Finnish BMW and my highest Italian plate!

Found this car parked at AEON Chikusa, Nagoya. MIght be a car form the Red Bull's advertisment team or something
This bus belongs to a traditional dance group from Kabardino-Balkaria (Caucasus region), which was in Spain for a festival.
The fun part is that this group already came to Switzerland 7 years ago with the exact same bus (with the same plates!) Great to see it again after so many years!

This Ten seconds long exposure was taken at 04.15am on a beautiful mist filled Springtime morning in the Golden hour around sunrise (Sunrise was at precisely 05.44am), at an altitude of Twenty fivemetres on Friday 24th April 2020, off Bexley Lane and Rectory Lane within Foots Cray Meadows in Bexley, Kent.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Four metres, at 14:03pm on Monday 9th January 2023, off the Mall and Horse Guards Road within the grounds of St James's Park in Central London, one of the Royal parks of London situated in South West London.
Here we see an adult Red-breasted goose (Branta ruficollis) from Eurasia, and sadly currently classified as vulnerable. This goose is an example of hybrid specification, being the result of ancient interbreeding between the Brant goose and the white cheeked goose, some 3.5 million years ago.

Bulgur Palace, Cerrahpaşa, 1990s
The archives of the Ottoman Bank collected from every part of the Empire were stored in the building known as Bulgur Palace for many years.
There are various rumors about Bulgur Palace; however, according to the archives, the building was used as guaranty by Mehmed Habib Bey, deputy of Bolu, for a loan given to Dillizade Emrullah Frères Company. Giulio Mongeri, the architect of the Ottoman Bank, assessed the building's value to be 250,000 liras at the time. When neither the company nor Mehmed Habib Bey's wife paid back the loan, the bank initiated the judicial procedure to take ownership of Bulgur Palace and became the official owner of the building in 1926. Even though the board of the Ottoman Bank decided to convert the Bulgur Palace building into a senatorium or a hospital, the 40.000 liras needed for completion proved too costly, and the project was never realized.

Cerrahpaşa’da “Bulgur Palas” olarak bilinen kâgir yapı, uzun yıllar Osmanlı Bankası’nın yurdun dört bir köşesinden gelen arşivlerine ev sahipliği yaptı.
Bu yapı hakkında farklı rivayetler bulunur. Ancak arşivler, 1921’de Dillizade Emrullah Kardeşler Şirketi’nin borcuna kefil olan Bolu mebusu Mehmed Habib Bey’in bankaya Bulgur Palas’ı karşılık gösterdiğini belgeler. Banka mimarı Giulio Mongeri, henüz tamamlanmamış yapıya 250.000 lira değer biçer. Gerek şirketin gerekse daha sonra Mehmed Habib Bey’in eşinin aldığı borçların ödenmemesi üzerine hukuki süreç başlatan banka, 1926 yılı sonunda yapının sahibi olur. Bulgur Palas’ın bir sanatoryum veya hastane olarak kullanılması kararı alınır ama sadece yapımının tamamlanması ve kullanıma hazır edilmesi için 40.000 liralık yatırım gerekmektedir. Banka idaresi projeyi gerçekleştirmez.

Oscar Ribeiro de Almeida de Niemeyer Soares GCSE • ComIH (Rio de Janeiro, 15 de dezembro de 1907 — Rio de Janeiro, 5 de dezembro de 2012) foi o arquiteto brasileiro de nome mais influente na arquitetura moderna. Foi pioneiro na exploração das possibilidades construtivas e plásticas do concreto armado, e por esse motivo teve grande fama nacional e internacional desde a decada de 1940
Seus trabalhos mais conhecidos são os edifícios públicos que projetou para a cidade de Brasília, embora possua um grande corpo de trabalho desde sua graduação pela Escola Nacional de Belas Artes do Rio de Janeiro em 1934.

Oscar Ribeiro de Almeida Niemeyer Soares Filho (15 December 1907 – 5 December 2012), known as Oscar Niemeyer, was a Brazilian architect who is considered one of the key figures in the development of modern architecture. Niemeyer was best known for his design of civic buildings for Brasília, a planned city which became Brazil's capital in 1960, as well as his collaboration with other architects on the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. His exploration of the aesthetic possibilities of reinforced concrete was highly infuential on the architecture of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
Both lauded and criticized for being a "sculptor of monuments", Niemeyer was praised for being a great artist and one of the greatest architects of his generation by his supporters. He claimed his architecture was strongly influenced by Le Corbusier, but in an interview, assured that this "didn't prevent [his] architecture from going in a different direction". Niemeyer was most famous for his use of abstract forms and curves that characterize most of his works, and wrote in his memoirs:
“I am not attracted to straight angles or to the straight line, hard and inflexible, created by man. I am attracted to free-flowing, sensual curves. The curves that I find in the mountains of my country, in the sinuousness of its rivers, in the waves of the ocean, and on the body of the beloved woman. Curves make up the entire Universe, the curved Universe of Einstein.”
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Niemeyer was schooled at the city's Escola Nacional de Belas Artes, and after graduating worked at his father's typography house, as well as as a draftsman for local architectural firms. In the 1930s, he interned with Lúcio Costa, with the pair collaborating on the design for the Palácio Gustavo Capanema in Rio de Janeiro. Niemeyer's first major project was the design of a series of buildings for Pampulha, a planned suburb north of Belo Horizonte. His work, especially on the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi, received critical acclaim, and drew Niemeyer international attention. Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, Niemeyer became one of Brazil's most prolific architects, designing a range of buildings both within the country and overseas. This included the design of the Edifício Copan (a large residential building in São Paulo), and a collaboration with Le Corbusier (and others) on the design of the United Nations Headquarters, which provoked invitations to teach at Yale University and the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
In 1956, Niemeyer was invited by Brazil's new president, Juscelino Kubitschek, to design the civic buildings for Brazil's new capital, which was to be built in the centre of the country, far from any existing cities. His designs for the National Congress of Brazil, the Cathedral of Brasília, the Cultural Complex of the Republic, the Palácio da Alvorada, the Palácio do Planalto, and the Supreme Federal Court, all completed by 1960, were largely experimental in nature, and were linked by common design elements. This work led to his appointment as inaugural head of architecture at the University of Brasília, as well as honorary membership of the American Institute of Architects. Due to his largely leftist ideology, and involvement with the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB), Niemeyer left the country after the 1964 military coup, and subsequently opened an office in Paris. He returned to Brazil in 1985, and was awarded the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1988. A socialist and atheist from an early age, Niemeyer had spent time in both Cuba and the Soviet Union during his exile, and on his return served as the PCB's president from 1992 to 1996. Niemeyer continued working well into the early 21st century, notably designing the Niterói Contemporary Art Museum (1996) and the Novo Museu (2002). He died in Rio de Janeiro in December 2012, at the age of 104.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Fifty nine metres at 09:32am on Wednesday 22nd July 2020, of a Juvenile Blue Tit (Parus caeruleus), on a walnut tree off Chessington Avenue in Bexleyheath, Kent.
The juvenile Blue tit is identified by yellow cheeks and a grey head and top plumage that eventually turns blue, and these little birds are bestowed with wonderful acrobatic skills.
