A wooden ladder connects the upper and lower levels of a traditional ice cellar in Utqiagvik, Alaska, Feb. 4, 2023. The ice cellar, maintained by Lewis Brower, whaling captain and lifelong Barrow resident, and his family and generations of whaling captains before them, is capable of handling two full whales between 32 and 38 feet long. Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Airmen visited the cellar during a visit of Point Barrow Long Range Radar Site and to participate in Kivgiq, an ancient Iñupiaq tradition, which unites North Slope communities in a celebration of dance and fellowship. The Cork City Marathon was held in Cork City, Ireland on Monday 4th June 2012. There was a near record level of participation in the marathon, half marathon, and marathon relay. The weather turned out warm to start with but cooled down later in the morning. The support from the people of Cork along the route was fantastic. Congratulations must go to all of the groups and organisations involved in putting on a great days running in Cork City.

This set of photographs does not include all participants in the three races. As we competed in the marathon ourselves it took us a while to get back our cameras. The photographs here are predominantly from the 4 hours plus times in the marathon and 2:15 hours plus in the half marathon.

This is a collection of photographs taken by Peter and Rory Mooney.

Old style manually operated level crossing in Cabra, Dublin. Not many of these types of crossings left.

HHC, 1st Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment has been conducting Army Combatives Level 1 training this week. Part of Combatives Level 1 training is specific chokeholds like cross-collar chokes, clinch drills, armbars, and lots of rolling on the mat to ensure competency. This training instills the Warrior Ethos and prepares Soldiers to close with and defeat the enemy in hand to hand combat.
