Four level dungeon

Treated 2x6x8 made for 3 levels. I since drilled two holes with a 3/8" bolt through with wing nuts to keep them together. Stop-blocks used at the end, held on with deck screws.

Students at Croydon Sixth Form College (6F) have this year achieved an excellent set of results across both academic and vocational courses on offer at the College. This year saw a 95% pass rate at A Level and 99% pass rate for other Level 3 qualifications such as BTEC and NVQ courses.

St Margaret, Margaretting, Essex

I'd come down into south Essex on what they quaintly call round here 'Ride and Stride Day', to explore churches normally kept locked without a keyholder. It had been raining since midnight, and when I got off the train in Chelmsford at about 8am there was a gloomy, penetrating drizzle, giving something of the effect of cycling underwater. I headed south down the lanes to the outskirts of Ingatestone, where I found Margaretting parish church locked, but with a keyholder notice.I had arrived an hour before the open churches event was due to start, so I suppose that it was no surprise to discover that the church was not open. Mind you, they didn't seem particularly geared up for it.

Uniquely in England, you reach Margaretting churchyard across a level crossing, and as this is on the busy Liverpool Street to Essex/Ipswich/Norwich line, there are trains every few minutes. The keyholder is on the opposite side of the tracks to the church, which led to a certain amount of fiddling about as I waited in each direction several times for the barriers to open. The tower, like Blackmore, is an aisled wooden structure, splendid even in the drizzle, but theinterior is almost entirely late 19th Century in character. However, the star of the show, and a surprising one, is a 14th Century stained glass tree of Jesse, reset in the east window. It put me in mind of Ste-Chapelle in Paris. Most unusual in such a cosy setting.

A beautiful if somewhat cold Somerset Levels for the first frost of 2017. It was a tad chilly at -6degC (a very dry cold for a change) but well worth a quick trip around taking in RSPB Ham Wall, SWT Westhay, Telham Moor and RSPB Greylake before heading off to work.

I gave most of the control potentiometers a good squirt of propan-2-ol. But this level control was intermittent so I dismantled it for a more thorough cleaning. The front track is moved out of the way and the wipers on their spindle removed.

I marked this photo to show the classic braided nature of this strike-slip fault in the underground workings. I am amused by geologists who draw faults as a single straight line on a map. Compare to the accompanying un-marked photo. Dos Cabezas gold mine near Willcox Arizona.

This layout is based on the October Week 4 sketch challenge at Let's Get Sketchy (letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com/).

This page is also entered in Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge 31 "Anything Goes" (www.flickr.com/groups/simonsaysstamp). I used Simon Says "All Boy" stamp set to create the game controllers, which I colored with copic markers. I used the packaging technique with distress inks for the background.

The Echo Park pattern papers were very similar to the Color Challenge 32 at MFT Card Challenges (www.cardchallenges.com/), although I did change the orange to red with a copic marker. Also the title was created with My Favorite Things stamp set Level Up.
