Nashua Street and Richardson Terrace, across from Vinal Street.
The City reconstructed Nashua street in 2004 and Richardson terrace in 2007. Yet, they did not correct this obviously unsafe curb cut; across from it; and opposite this curb cut is a newly reconstructed Richardson Terrace sidewalk with a 7% cross-slope.
So, please be careful, dear Deaf child. All SOmerville pedestrians must proceed with caution down Somerville's sidewalks, whether newly constructed or not.
YET: Somervile, MA has just been named the "inaugural winner" in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' "Let's Move Cities and Towns" contest.
Even though, the majority of the city's facilities, including streets, parks and open spaces, are still inaccessible and nonfunctional for 20% of the population.
First Lady Michelle Obama addressing kids, guest and the media during the Seventh Annual White House Kitchen Garden planting event on April 15, 2015. Kids from around the country planted five vegetables : spinach, bok choy, broccoli, lettuce plant and radish seeds.
Mrs Obama started the garden in 2009 to initiate a national conversation about our nation's health. This conversation led to the Let's Move! initiative which started in 2010.
So to celebrate the 5th year of the Let's Move! initiative, the First Lady has launched the #GimmeFive Garden Challenge...to encourage Americans to #GimmeFive things they are doing to lead healthier lives.
The kids all received the same 5 plants and seeds to take back to their school and communities and have been encouraged to grow their own gardens.
So this spring, plant a garden, take a picture as it grows, post your pics to social media and tag it #GimmeFive.

Sometimes you have to go against the tide.
This little guy, fell face down at the beginning of his "Rod Dixon`s KIDS Marathon" ceremonial mile race. The good volunteers helped him over to the side, and gave him lots of love, and the proper medical attention. But, I knew, that this moment will soon pass for them, and he would be left feeling like a failure. I saw it in his face.As you can see in this picture, the race had long started, and the families had begun to move toward the finish line, so I gabbed little man and said “ Let`s get it on Champ!” “Muhammad Ali got knocked down, and he gets the praise, and the love of the people today because he got up." Little man didn`t do the whole mile. ( I cut it in half so he could finish with the other kids), but he went through the finish line, and got his medal.
