רוח שטות זורמת בקלות,
אופטימיות נצחית תרופה
המרפא כל דוי ולב שבור
חיוך שובב הצית שממה
לצון פרץ לו במחול סוער
עולה אל על נוגע במרום.....
"We will not build a peaceful world by following a negative path. It is not enough to say we must not wage war. It is necessary to love peace and sacrifice for it. We must concentrate not merely on the negative expulsion of war but on the positive affirmation of peace. We must see that peace represents a sweeter music, a cosmic melody, that is far superior to the discords of war. Somehow, we must transform the dynamics of the world power struggle from the negative nuclear arms race, which no one can win, to a positive contest to harness humanity's creative genius for the purpose of making peace and prosperity a reality for all the nations of the world. In short, we must shift the arms race into a peace race. If we have a will - and determination - to mount such a peace offensive, we will unlock hitherto tightly sealed doors of hope and transform our imminent cosmic elegy into a psalm of creative fulfillment."
- Martin Luther King, Jr.
"Peace, in the sense of the absence of war, is of little value to someone who is dying of hunger or cold. It will not remove the pain of torture inflicted on a prisoner of conscience. It does not comfort those who have lost their loved ones in floods caused by senseless deforestation in a neighboring country. Peace can only last where human rights are respected, where people are fed, and where individuals and nations are free."
- The Dalai Lama
"But peace does not rest in the charters and covenants alone. It lies in the hearts and minds of all people. So let us not rest all our hopes on parchment and on paper, let us strive to build peace, a desire for peace, a willingness to work for peace in the hearts and minds of all of our people. I believe that we can. I believe the problems of human destiny are not beyond the reach of human beings."
- John F. Kennedy
"In the secret of my heart I am in perpetual quarrel with God that He should allow such things [as the war] to go on. My non-violence seems almost impotent. But the answer comes at the end of the daily quarrel that neither God nor non-violence is impotent. Impotence is in men. I must try on without losing faith even though I may break in the attempt."
- Mahatma Gandhi
"If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other."
- Mother Teresa

I wanted to make a card using the “Let it Snow” pp. Because of all the snowflakes and blues I decided to knit a tiny shawl for the doll using cocktail sticks and a very fine yarn. Went for style over heat on her head just adding a snowflake hair accessory instead of a hat.

I've fallen in love with the beautiful serene look of this young lady and appropriately named her Elizabeth. I'm reminiscent of peaceful winter days and soft fluffy snow falls when I imagine her...
I was inspired to surround her with the joy of Winter by presenting her in this amazing vintage Swing frame. I've created a shadow box in this gorgeous
frame. With oodles of charm, the vintage frame has a unique ornate pedestal with a delightful pediment of carved roses. The arms and frame were decorated with Snow, mica, and glass glitter.
watched the bird at the back doing this dance to impress the one in front. sadly, the bird wasn't impressed. never mind plenty more fish in the sea.
“Take a good look, Lord Fanshawe… All this will be yours, once we are safely back at your club tonight!!”

Talking of the aristocracy, the super-snobby Lord Quentin Mowbray has recently returned from his trip to the US West Coast. He is full of complaints about American society in general, and the country’s “too democratic” system of government. We talked over dinner at the Carlton Club.
“Why don’t the Americans get the message, Lady Rebecca - and introduce a system of hereditary titles that actually reflect their society? Then everyone over there would know who were their social equals - and who were their superiors. Without a system of titles, it is all so confusing! I had no idea sometimes if I was flirting with an aristocratic lady of good family – or a night club tramp!”
“Which would you consider me to be, Lord Mowbray? Duchess - or tramp?”
His Lordship stared ruminatively into his brandy, and took another mouthful of crème brûlée.
“I am all for democracy and equality, Lady Rebecca. But – dammit! – we aristocrats need to be confident that we are still in charge. You may call it entitlement, but the aristocracy were born to rule. I don't care what the Woke Brigade may say. The country’s strength lies in its nobility!!!”
I sighed quietly to myself, and changed the subject to a discussion of what naughty games Lord Mowbray wanted to play with me, après-ski....

Harking back to December 28th of last year, in the middle of an excellent Wasatch storm cycle. I haven't had enough winter, yet. Bring back the cold, stormy weather, Ullr!
“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like."

Down the curling pond the other day, I hear a commotion, a squawking riot. I look over and see a heron and it's chick come fledgling. The chick was the one causing the riot. The mother heron flew into the nest after which the chick kept prompting to be fed by the mother by going for the beak, unsuccessfully. Happy parenting where every picture tells a story - continuing.
