Wearing your heart like a stolen dream

Opening skies with your broken keys

No one can blind us any longer

We'll run where lights won't chase us

Hide where love can save us

I will never let you go

I decided to be cliche and try playing with flour today...I don't really like how it turned out but I don't hate it. It was my first attempt with flour and I figured since I made a mess and got flour all in my eyes I might as well post it lol

I wish I could get a straight down angle...but considering all I have to use is a chair right now that's pretty much impossible and that bums me out...anyone have any ideas on how to get a straight down angle?

I'm actually kinda bummed today while deep inside I'm happy. Garry officially has the apartment and will be moving into it in a week! Now we just have to get the ball rolling so we can finally be together after 4 long years of long distance and 2 years of barely seeing one another. We'll have also gone 13 months apart this time...so it's absolutely time for us to be together. I'm just scared to talk to mom about all this...

Oh and PS. I'm not answering any more formspring questions about my negativity...it's getting old and annoying. I made that formspring for photography questions...

In my part of the world winter has yet to make a permanent appearance. One brief and fleeting hour of snow flurries and then back to the not very cold weather again. I'm begining to worry that winter as I love it is gone forever. I'm still holding out hope for a good snowfall before spring. In the meantime I covet the snow of others here in flickrland!

For the third time in 30 years, I'm decorating the breakfast room.

When we moved in it was painted all white and felt cold. So I painted it in a colour called buttermilk, which warmed it up. And then about 15 years ago, I painted it dark red, which I loved and still do, but it's time for a change.

I only painted 3 walls red and the ceiling, 4th wall and woodwork were in a colour called linen. To the right is my kitchen, which is currently painted dark green, and I'll be redoing that room when I've finished this.

Yesterday was spent clearing the room of stuff and washing down the ceiling, walls and woodwork. The filling was done this morning and will be sanded tomorrow. Then another quick wash down and hopefully on Monday I'll start painting.

The cat is Ben, and he always wants to know what's going on.

Just let me out....

Happy Tuesday to you all and thanks for your friendship, comments, invites and more!

An old amateur photograph (4" x 3") from a large collection of old European tram photos that I bought. This one is of Stuttgart car No. Tw671 showing '8 - Gablenberg' destination blinds with an unknown trailer car.

The photo reverse is printed with 'Aufnshme von Theodor ALT' and annotated "Tw671 & Bw ?? 3/4/55".

I have very little information about European trams or tramways, I bought the collection of old pictures rather than take the chance that they would be thrown away if unsold.

If there are any errors in the above description please let me know. Thanks.

At the weekend it was one half of id-iom's 40th so we set about celebrating in style with some live acts and a dj. Whilst most people had a great time, things got a little messy for others. This is the case for this poor wastrel who after too much fun washed down by too many drinks went just a little crazy. We lost him till just yesterday when I saw him stumbling through the studio door gasping for water. After rehydrating him I advised him to sit out side in the sunshine to get his vitamin D levels up. I think he's okay. Only time will tell...

Cheers

We had a bit of snowfall the day after Christmas on the East Coast and I had just finished reading a photo article about how "Bad Weather = Good Weather for photographs" so I decided to give it a shot (quite literally). I even got my sister in on it, which I might post later. My relatively new beard is keeping me warm, along with my sweet plaid hat and the new scarf I got for Christmas.

Strobist Info: 1 flash on 1/16th power to subject left. Flash pointed up and equipped with a homemade bounce card to diffuse the light. The flash also had a secondary fill light flash that was fired. Triggered via radio.

Enjoying the sweetness of the flower....

“Let everything happen to you. Beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final” ~Rainer Maria Rilke

It was a grey, cloudy day with rain pouring in intervals. The mist had started to cover the mountains surrounding the city. We took a sea bus to start heading towards North Vancouver to take a trip to Grouse Mountain. Sea bus is a regular transport and part of the public transit used by the people to commute from downtown to Northern part of the city. The landscape of this city is amazing. Captured this picture of a subtle moment and this girl admiring the landscape as the sea bus started to make its way through the inlet towards the northern side ‪#‎Seabus‬ ‪#‎Canon‬ ‪#‎NorthVancouver‬

It's about -20°C outside and, as you can see, even the ice is trying to get into my room to find warmer temperatures...

Staring at the bottom of your glass

Hoping one day you'll make a dream last

But dreams come slow and they go so fast

You see her when you close your eyes

Maybe one day you'll understand why

Everything you touch surely dies

But you only need the light when it's burning low

Only miss the sun when it starts to snow

Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low

Only hate the road when you're missing home

Only know you love her when you let her go

Life is a prison,

Oh God let me out.

No one to listen,

To hear when you shout.

Climb the walls of insanity,

Ride the waves of despair.

If you fall it don't matter,

There's no one to care.

Used to wish for a window,

To see birds, trees and sky,

But you're better without one -

Stops you aiming too high.

Watching freedom is painful,

For those locked away.

Seeing joy, love and happiness,

Another price that you pay.

Strong is good, weak is bad.

Be it false, be it true.

Your mind makes the choice,

And enforces it too.

Cell walls built by society,

With rules to adhere.

If you breach the acceptable,

You had better beware.

Hide the pain, carry on,

Routine is the key.

Don't let on that you're not,

What you're pretending to be.

Lock it all up inside you,

How badly that bodes.

Look out for that one day,

When it all just explodes.

Leaving naught but a shell,

Base functionality too.

But killing all else,

That was uniquely you.

So how do you grow,

With a timebomb inside?

Or how to defuse it,

Without destroying its ride?

We had just sat down to have breakfast when we noticed this cat outside the patio door on our deck. It was meowing as though it wanted us to let it in. We have our own cat so we couldn't do that. I've never seen this cat before.
