Staci chose "Let Go" for this week's collaboration. This phrase has so much meaning. For me, it's letting go of the things that weigh me down, letting go of trying to measure up, letting go of trying to be perfect. And really, when you let go, it involves trust. What is it that you need to Let Go of?

Unedited shot of the snow last week in Amsterdam. Taken with my Sony HX1. No editing :)
The best city in the world is still covered in snow, but that's just all the stuff that came down last week...I took this shot early in the morning last Friday, it kept going on like that all day and caused a major traffic drama all over the country and the rest of Europe. Still, society just goes on with life and everybody tries their best to cope with the situation, either by largely ignoring that it's very dangerous out there or by being over-careful, I am tending to try something different each day, to keep thing interesting :)
Almost weekend, almost Christmas, I hope we'll get a white one :)

I honestly hate my photography skills or whatever.
I mean, most girls compare their looks to other people's. I compare my photography.
I'm so frustrated right now. I'm looking at one of my favorite photographer's pictures and she's not even professional or anything, she just does it as a hobby and I am soo jealous. Her pictures are all perfectly focused and perfectly posed and perfectly timed and and everything is perfect.
Not to mention she's gorgeous so when she does self portraits anyone who looks at them just melts.
I swear I'm not even fishing for compliments. I am truly hatin' on myself right now ughhhh I wish I was better.
Need to improve my focusing skills.
A lot.
My problems will be solved when I get a remote.
I don't remember how I did this processing. That's the problem. Sometimes I process something in a way that I really like and I compress it and save it. And then I never write down how I did the processing. But that's okay I guess. It means every processing is unique.
My son Manas checking me out while shooting on the way to Nanded. He must be willing to say.." Hey Dad let's go..oh God you started shooting here also".

Well, yesterday I spent an hour or so on the beach at Walton-On-The-Naze, which would have been better had the tide not been in..:((
It was a nice sunny day though so that was nice.
Anyhoo, I tried to get a better capture of these little birds but people kept walking passed and scaring them away....one time I was just about to get a decent shot when a bloke turned up with his dog and the birds took flight, this shot is the result of that moment....I was a also a little high up on the walk way, to have been lower down would have meant going for a swim, which wouldn't have been very helpful to my camera..lol
OK, I hope you all have a wonderful up coming Week..:)

American Goldfinch (Carduelis tristis) AMGO
It showed up suddenly during the heaviest snowfall and joined the other yardbirds eating the seeds we put out. Only a brief visit....but its bright colors seemed to almost glow with the snow and dark gray sky. Not sure if it is a resident of the NC mountains or was on its way south in late November.

It's the start of the New York City holiday season!
From Saks' "Let's Holiday" Christmas window series.
It starts with hellos, it ends with goodbyes
In every ending, there will be a new beginning
it's just your body that has gone
But the memories of you will be lasting
Rest in peace Mr. James Martin
My deep condolence for Martin's Family. Renee's father passed away on last saturday afternoon. Even though i never meet him for real before but I feel the sadness. I was thinking what if this happened to me? Renee is my best friend over seas. I hope i were there, hugged her, and cheered her up.

Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like nobody's watching. ~ Satchel Paige
The Dancing House (or Drunk House), an interesting office building in downtown Prague, Czech Republic. It was originally called Fred and Ginger (named after Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers - the house looks like a pair of dancers) the house stands out among the Neo-Baroque, Neo-Gothic and Art Nouveau buildings for which Prague is famous.
It was designed by Croatian-born Czech architect Vlado Milunić with Canadian architect Frank Gehry (works include Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA, Guggenheim Museum in Spain, etc.) on a vacant riverfront plot (where the previous building had been destroyed during the Bombing of Prague in 1945).
