this is how it snows in Eastern North Carolina......usually. We do get a little snow every couple of years and occasionally, we get a real good snow (3 or 4 inches!) Being from West Virginia it kind of funny to watch everyone here when it snows even a little.... CHAOS!
...It's time to let it fall
It's time to smash
The crystal ball
And sometimes
The pieces make you long
Wipe out the dream
Once and for all
It's time to let it fall
Find my feet
Find the beat again
It's time to let it fall
And finally
I can breathe again...

It's time to let go of the things we're grasping onto so tightly. The toils and troubles we are letting define us. It doesn't matter anyway. Life goes on beautifully whether or not we cling to outdated beliefs and wrongs done to us. We are so scared of falling, yet the moment we loosen our grip is the moment we begin to live.
Letting go doesn't mean giving up, it means surrendering, and seeing how life continues to move you.

It was the contrast of colours that caught my eye as I drove past this building and surrounds, but upon closer inspection, saddened that there was also a certain amount of neglect.

Agfa Billy Record II (6x9) and Ilford FP4 Plus
Developed with Ilfosol 3. And this time, I really messed it up: On my developer mixing jug, I have two marks, one for 320 ml (1 x 135 film), and one for 600 ml (1x 120 film), and on this particular day, my brain chose to fill the jug up in accordance with the wrong mark. It was only after having processed the film in the developing tank for one minute or so that I realized that the tank felt a bit light. What to do in that instance? Well, I emptied the tank back into the mixing jug, mixed the stuff right this time, poored it back and kept on with the process for a length of time that "felt right". Better to take a chance than to just give up and throw the film away. And lo and behold, the result was OK :)
By the way, 6 x 9 is a delight!
I'm a Barbie girl, in the Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
I'm a blond bimbo girl in a fantasy world
Dress me up, make it tight, I'm your dolly
You're my doll, rock'n'roll, feel the glamour in pink
Kiss me here, touch me there, hanky panky
You can touch
You can play
If you say, "I'm always yours" (ooh, oh)
Come on, Barbie, let's go party

Barbie Girl
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not for long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that once we shared
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all part of the master plan
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know.
Laugh at all the things we used to do
Miss me, but let me go.
Words by Christina Rossetti
This work is dedicated to a friend who recently lost her daughter, due to illness. I hope you take some comfort from the words by Christina Rossetti. You are in our thoughts at this very difficult, sad time. Candles burn.
