1 lb chicken breasts
1 large onion, diced
2 carrots, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 cup lentils (dry)
14 oz chicken broth
1/2 tsp salt
10 oz tomato sauce
1/2 tsp dried rosemary
1/2 tsp dried basil
lemon juice
Brown the chicken and remove from the pan and set aside.
Cook the onion for 5 minutes and then add the garlic and carrot.
Stir in the lentils, broth and salt. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce to low and cook for 20 minutes.
Return the chicken to the pan, cover and cook another 20 minutes.
add the tomato sauce, rosemary and basil. Cook uncovered for 10 minutes.
Add the lemon juice (or lime juice) and enjoy.

This became a very autumnal spinach and two lentil dal. (That's two kinds of lentils, not two lentils, obviously).
I see: A pair of twin barnswallows dipping down over a golf course fairway at dawn, eating mosquitos while chatting about the weather and which one of them their mother liked best.
Rorschach tunics! I continued the sculptural jersey journey I started with my last batch (those bright blue things!) by making three tunics that are whatever you see in them. Expect them to be freeform, with different sized sleeves. Expect angles. Expect pleasing drape. Expect some seams to be exposed and some hidden - turn yours "wrong side out" and see if you like it better that way.
Lentil and spinach curry with cubes of paneer (oh the paneer- I'm stocking up next time!), topped with sliced avocadoes and cilantro chutney. Definitely worth a blog post at the Accidental Southerner.

cook 1 1/2 cup quinoa and 1/2 cup pink lentil in your rice cooker
use some thick tomato sauce in a pan, add a tsp of agar-agar (or kanten), boil for two minutes. Add oignon, garlic, spices to your taste if you want.
mix the lentil, quinoa and tomato sauce and put in glasses or silicon cup. Place in the fridge for a couple of hours till cold and solidified.
I ate it cold with a thick dressing of balsamic vinegar, walnut oil and garlic. yum.
