One source says the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains range is about 1,000 km (620 mi) in length. Its highest point is 7,090 m (23,260 ft) located 100 km (62 mi) to the northwest of Lhasa. The range is parallel to the Himalayas in the Transhimalayas, and north of the Brahmaputra River. [3] Another source says the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains extend 460 miles (740 km) from Nyêmo County in the west to Ranwu County (the southwestern part of Baxoi County) in the east.
Its highest peak is Mount Nyenchen Tanglha (Nyainqêntanglha Feng) at 7,162 metres (23,497 ft).[4]
The southern side of the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains is precipitous, and falls by around 2,000 metres (6,600 ft), while the northern side is fairly level and descends about 1,000 metres (3,300 ft). Most of the mountains are below 6,500 metres (21,300 ft).[5] They contain 7080 glaciers covering an area of 10,700 square kilometres (4,100 sq mi).[4]
The Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains have an average latitude of 30°30'N and a longitude between 90°E and 97°E. Together with the Gangdise Shan located further west, it forms the Transhimalaya [a] which runs parallel to the Himalayas north of the Yarlung Tsangpo River.
The Drukla Chu river rises in the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, where it is called the Song Chu river, and joins the Gyamda Chu river. The combined rivers run about 100 kilometres (62 mi) southeast to the Yarlung Tsangpo river.

Sandhill Crane on dirth path.
Between 34 to 48 inches in length with a wingspan of nearly 7 feet. They are very tall with a long neck and long legs. Largely gray with a red forehead. Juveniles browner with no red on head. Plumage often appears a rusty color because of iron stains from water of ponds or marshes.
They inhabit large freshwater marshes, prairie ponds and marshy tundra. They are also on prairies and grain fields during migration and in winter.
They range from Siberia and Alaska east across arctic Canada to the Hudson Bay and south to western Ontario. There are isolated populations in the Rocky Mountians, northern prairies, and the Great Lakes region along with in Mississippi, Georgia and Florida. They winter in California's Central Valley and across the southern states from Arizona to Florida. They can also be found in Cuba.

Excerpt from Wikipedia:
Pier 4 Park is a 2.4 hectare park found in the west-end of Hamilton Harbour near Bay Street North in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
The park features a multi-use asphalt trail, 349 metres in length and 4 metres wide which provides barrier-free access to all areas of the park and linkages with the surrounding harbourfront precinct.[1] A total of $2.2 million has been invested for the redevelopment of the park which includes a 24-metre tugboat which acts as the centrepiece of an interactive water play area for children. A dramatically curved lookout pier includes a protected sun shelter and benches to view the marinas, parkland and vistas of the surrounding Bay.
In addition Hamilton Harbour Commissioners (HHC) have constructed Hamilton Pier which provides 0.4 hectares of additional parkland and fish habitat.

The least chipmunk is the smallest squirrel in the park ranging in length from less than seven inches to nine inches. They can be identified by five stripes on the back and sides of their small bodies. Two of the stripes extend onto the head. Only the chipmunk has stripes on its face. If there are no stripes, it is a golden-mantled ground squirrel.
This species of chipmunk has the largest range of habitat, living from the lowest elevations to timberline and above, primarily in rocky areas.
Least chipmunks are not true hibernators. They are in a state of torpor from which they occasionally arouse to feed on stored food.

Audacia is Allseas’ versatile pipelay vessel, optimised for the execution of small- to large-diameter pipeline projects of any length in all water depths, and for associated work such as the installation of risers and subsea protection frames. The concept for Audacia was developed entirely in-house and she has been operational since 2007.
A length of 225 m places her between Allseas’ dynamically positioned pipelay vessels Solitaire and Lorelay. Precise manoeuvring on full dynamic positioning with a stinger positioned on the bow allow Audacia to work safely in congested areas and lay pipes in very deep water. Pipeline start-ups and lay-downs are executed in very quick time ensuring any disruption to other activities near platforms is minimised. Due to her long length and ship-shape Audacia can accommodate multiple work stations and has a greater pipe hold capacity. Her independence from anchor handlers and large buffer capacity also ensure she is less dependent on pipe off-loading from supply vessels. A high transit speed, high lay speed and large carrying capacity ensure Audacia is highly competitive for pipelay projects anywhere in the world.

Singing Sand Mountains & Crescent Moon Lake, Dunhuang, China.
Singing Sand Mountains
Located on the Silk Road, the Echoing-Sand Mountain is known as one of the Eight Great Landscapes of Dunhuang and one of the Four Great Singing Sands of China. Completely piled by sands, the mountain stretches for 40 km in length and 20 km in width respectively, with the highest point reaching 250 meters. When there is wild wind, the sands will be blown up and make loud sound, while the sound sounds like being produced by some ancient musical instrument when blew by breeze, hence the name.
Crescent Moon Lake
Just like its name indicates, the Crescent Lake is in a natural shape of half-moon and had been commonly considered as one of the Eight Great Landscapes of Dunhuang together with the Echoing-Sand Mountain early in Western Han Dynasty (206BC-24AD).

Early morning, was walking and taking pictures since about 6:30 at the beach in Sylt, Westerland. This on in front of the promenade were more and more people were at the beach in their bathrobes.
There are more and more people enjoying the first sun, going for a swim or in this case taking pictures of the seagulls.
Sun is rising from behind, sea is partly in the sun, partly still in the shadow from the beach side hotels.
As usual, constructive feedback an comments are welcome.

A Scarlet Tiger Moth, taken at Fishlake Madows nature reserve. You can just see a glimpse of the colour that gives the moth its name at the centre - with its wings spread you would see that the underwings are this vivid colour. It was first for me though it's fairly common in the south.
My moth book says it's forewing measures 22-26mm in length so I estimate the image is no more than 5 cm

Body length an impressive 6 cm. I understand that the wingspan can be up to 10 cm for this species.
Found and released from a spider's web, looking a little battered/aged. It began vibrating its wings and soon after flew off in to foliage where it rested in the sunshine. Its size was truly amazing.
Found in the east and north of this country. Larvae feed on privet (Ligustrum sinense, family Oleaceae), trumpet creeper (Campsis radicans, family Bignoniaceae) and other plants. An agricultural pest of olive trees.
When disturbed, males of this species may make a hissing sound by rubbing together a specialised set of scales and spines at the end of the abdomen.

Short Eared Owl - Asios Flammeus
Size: Length 33-43cm. Wings length 281-335mm. Tail length 130-157mm. Weight 206475g. Females are larger and heavier than Males.
Generally nocturnal, but often become active 30-60 minutes before sunset; some owls may be active during the day (to a much lesser extent) during the breeding season. Seasonal changes in activity a response to variations in vole population size and day length. Flies with deep, slow, moth-like rowing wingbeats, and glides on stretched wings over open landscapes. Outside breeding season, they may gather in communal roosts. A largely nomadic vole-specialist.
Short-eared Owls inhabit wide open spaces such as grasslands, prairie, agricultural fields, salt marshes, estuaries, mountain meadows, and alpine and Arctic tundra. Breeding habitat must have sufficient ground cover to conceal nests and nearby sources of small mammals for food. Communal roosts occur in old growth fields, along thick hedgerows, in overgrown rubble in abandoned fields, or in clumps of dense conifers. These Owls tend to roost in trees only when snow covers the ground. During migration, Short-eared Owls will move through high mountain passes, flying at great heights.
Distribution: Short-eared Owls occur widely in the Old World, in Iceland, the Hawaiian Islands and North and South America. Northern populations are migratory and nomadic. Movements of up to 2,000 km have been documented.

Well, I’m back home and the morning’s sunrise was exceedingly dull so let’s go with a picture that shows the whole length of Bethel Spring Falls. I haven’t figured out how to show it (yet) but, perhaps the most interesting part is that, all the water falls into a hole. There is no water running down the mountain in a creek. There is a spring about a half mile downhill where the water comes back to the surface from its trip underground.

No matter the lengths to which mankind stretches its hand to wound and destroy, the quiet strength of the divine endures. In the midst of suffering and decay, when all seems lost, God always finds a way to remind the world of His intrinsic grace. Delicate and yet resolute, the smallest flowers stand as a testament to this enduring truth; no matter how deep the darkness, light will always return. It often comes in the simplest of forms, to offer hope for the future and renewal for the soul.

The distinctive character of Condylostylus is a pair of setose mounds on the frons bearing the vertical setae. When present, wing markings in the form of two bands joined along the costa will distinguish Condylostylus from other American Sciapodinae. In addition, the following combination of typical, but not universal, characters can help ID the genus:
vertex deeply excavated
M distinctly forked (unforked in Mesorhaga)
frons usually with pale bristles in addition to black (usually only black in Sciapus)
setae of calypter usually black (usually pale in Sciapus)
scutellum with two pairs of bristles (outer pair reduced or absent in Sciapus)
In many species, vein M1 is more sharply curved towards the base of the wing than in other genera. If you read to this point and understood at least quarter of this stuff- congratulation, you are a much better entomologist that I am
Eastern Chipmunk.
Between 8 1/2 to 11 3/4 inches in length. Reddish brown above with a white belly. 1 white stripe bordered by 2 black stripes on sides ending at the rump. 2 white stripes on back much thinner than side stripes. Dark center stripe down the back. Pale facial stripes above and below the eyes. Tail brown on tip and edged with black. Prominent ears.
The Eastern Chipmunk's habitat includes open deciduous woodlands, forest edges, brushy areas, bushes and stone walls in cemeteries and around houses.
They range from southeastern Canada and the north-eastern U.S. east from North Dakota and eastern Oklahoma and south to Missisippi, northwest Carolina and Virginia.
Kensington Metropark, Livingston County, Michigan.
Tundra Swan.
At 48 to 55 inches in length the Tundra Swan, also known as the Whistling Swan, is the only native swan in the Eastern United States. Large and all white, with a black bill and usually a small yellow spot in front of the eye. It holds it's neck straight up unlike the Mute Swan which bends its neck in a curve.
It inhabits the Arctic tundra and winters on marshy lakes and bays.
They range from Alaska and far northern Canada east to Baffin Island. They winter in southern Alaska south to Nevada, Utah and Baja California and on the mid-Atlantic coast. Rarely to the Gulf Coast of Texas and occasionally on the Great Lakes.

Schweiz / Wallis - Fieschergletscher
The Fiescher Glacier (Fieschergletscher in German) is a valley glacier on the south side of the Bernese Alps in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. 16 km (9.9 mi) in length, it is the second longest glacier in the Alps. The glacier covers an area of 33 km2 (13 sq mi).
The starting point of the Fiescher Glacier is 4,000 m (13,000 ft) above sea level, on the eastern slope of the Fiescherhorn, it is flanked to the west by the Grünhorn and Gross Wannenhorn and to the east by the Finsteraarhorn.
In the lower section, the Fiescher Glacier flows south through a deep valley between the Gross Wannenhorn and the Wasenhorn. In summer, when the snow layer melts, it has a grey colour as it is covered with rocks coming from the steep slopes of the mountains around. The end of glacier tongue is at around 1,700 m (5,600 ft) above sea level.
On the south western slope of the Finsteraarhorn, about 100 m (330 ft) above the Fieschergletscher, the Finsteraarhornhütte of the Swiss Alpine Club (3,048 m (10,000 ft) above sea level) is often used as an intermediate station on the route from Lötschental or Jungfraujoch to the Grimsel Pass.
(Wikipedia)
