This is what a visitor sees when exits from the other side of the upper Antelope Canyon. I've made this photo for the second time after seven years and the result is almost the same; but this time I was more prepared to capture its stunning textures details; then I underexposed a little in order to capture all blue and purple hues that the sensor was able to register, maintaining the strong light coming from the outside. The result is something that I printed on a metal surface like aluminium in a vertical, supersaturated composition.
About the length and diameter of the first two bones in your little finger, a tiny Snowberry Clearwing Moth backs out of a Bee Balm floret after sampling its sweet nectar. These creatures are amazing as they go about their business with stealth and precision. And... they fly FAST.
The leather leash I use is 6 feet long (1.8 m), and Blanca knows exactly how long that is and keeps herself comfortably within that range.
However, when she is off leash, she adjusts herself to the much stronger and invisible bond of love. She will vary according to points of interest to investigate, but generally the distance shown in this photo is her self-determined default distance from me when we are walking together. According to the EXIF info, our love bond measures 22.4 meters (73.4 feet).
A beautiful hummingbird.
Their habitat is in high-altitude forests 3,900-7,500 ft ( 1,200-2,300 m). But sometimes, in search of food sources, these birds down as low as 1,600 ft (500 m).
This bird species spends most of its days in solitude. They go to great lengths just to defend a feeding territory.

This Monarch Butterfly (Danaus plexippus) caterpillar is less than 1 cm (0.4 inches) in length. It will grow to about 2 inches when it forms a chrysalis. This young loner is mixing in with a colony of Oleander Aphids (Aphis nerii Boyer de Fonscolombe) on their favorite Narrowleaf Milkweed (Asclepias fascicularis).
The 4.5 mm focal length used here is the equivalent of a 25mm moderately wide angle on a 35 mm camera. It gives me focus from foreground to infinity and is my ultimate point and click setting. I think this is a Menil Roe Deer.

Sandhill Crane.
Between 34 to 48 inches in length with a wingspan of nearly 7 feet. They are very tall with a long neck and long legs. Largely gray with a red forehead. Juveniles browner with no red on head. Plumage often appears a rusty color because of iron stains from water of ponds or marshes.
They inhabit large freshwater marshes, prairie ponds and marshy tundra. They are also on prairies and grain fields during migration and in winter.
They range from Siberia and Alaska east across arctic Canada to the Hudson Bay and south to western Ontario. There are isolated populations in the Rocky Mountians, northern prairies, and the Great Lakes region along with in Mississippi, Georgia and Florida. They winter in California's Central Valley and across the southern states from Arizona to Florida. They can also be found in Cuba.

Notre-Dame de Paris is a masterpiece of Gothic art.
The building of Notre-Dame extended over 150 years, during which all the various phases of Gothic architecture were reflected in its structure (from the great cathedrals of Chartres, Reims, and Amiens).
The interior exemplifies the grandeur of Gothic architecture with its space. It is 420 foot long, 157 foot wide and 226
foot high.
The ceiling is supported by ridged vaults, with multiple arches that come together at various points across the length of the building, covering more than 130 metres altogether.

Length 14-23 mm. The female is always dorsally green but males can be olive-brown. They never have any red or orange on the abdomen. Winged and flies well, but wings never exceed the end of the body. Lines on shoulders incurved, marked white or cream.
Over all length 6 - 8mm. Most flies in this genus are very similar and therefore difficult to identify to species. They are generally reddish in colour with some faint spots on the wings.
Damp areas beside ditches or within emergent vegetation. Their larvae are parasitoids or predators on slugs or snails.
Tetanocera elata is a species of fly in the family Sciomyzidae. It is found in the Palearctic [1][2][3] Larvae of T. elata are known obligate feeders on slugs both as parasitoids and predators.

Gallotia galloti palmae, in La Palma. In addition to Gallotia galloti, it is sometimes called "smut lizard". The blight lizard can reach 30 cm in length. Males are somewhat larger than females and have a blue patch on their faces. Black lizard (Gallotia galloti) The black lizard is a very abundant reptile in the Canary Islands, especially in agricultural areas and coastal scrubland. It prefers dry and sunny places, such as rocky areas, especially rock walls, and avoids the laurel forest area. It can live up to 3,000 m above sea level, so it can be found at almost any altitude. Forest roads are a favorable habitat for this species, since it also uses them to move around, as it allows it to stay in the sun during its walks. Being a poikilothermic animal (that is, cold-blooded), it requires clear places where it can warm up on the rock, until it reaches a body temperature that allows it to be active. Feeding Their diet is based on plants and insects; sometimes it eats the grapes cultivated by man, for which it is subject to persecution.
The spotted cucumber beetle or southern corn rootworm ( Diabrotica undecimpunctata howardi Barber) is a species of cucumber beetle that is native to North America. Length is approx. .25in ( 0.6350cm). The species can be a major agricultural pest insect in North America. Spotted cucumber beetles cause damage to crops in the larval and adult stages of their life cycle. In the adult stage the beetles cause damage by eating the flowers, leaves, stems, and fruits of the plant. The beetles can also spread diseases such as bacterial wilt and mosaic virus.

The Mission Railway Bridge is a Canadian Pacific Railway bridge spanning the Fraser River between Mission, and Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada.
Replacing an earlier bridge built in 1891, which was the first and only bridge crossing of the Fraser below Siska in the Fraser Canyon until the construction of the New Westminster rail bridge in 1904, it was constructed in 1909 by the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). The Mission Railway Bridge is supported by 13 concrete piers and is approximately 533 metres in length. Before completion of the Mission highway bridge, highway traffic to and from Matsqui and Abbotsford with Mission used the bridge as a one-way alternating route, with traffic lights at either end to control direction. Rail traffic often held up car crossings, causing long and often very lengthy waits, which were a part of daily life in the Central Valley until the new bridge was completed.
Beneath the bridge's north abutment is an important river-level gauge monitored during the annual Fraser freshet. The bridge is also the location of the end of the Fraser's tidal bore - downstream from the bridge the river is increasingly influenced by tidal influences from the Georgia Strait.
Swing span
The Mission Railway Bridge has a swing span which has a vertical clearance of 4.9 metres above the water when closed. The swing span is fitted atop a circular concrete pier, the 10th from the north bank of the river. The 10th pier is protected from shipping traffic by two 46 metre wood piers extending upstream and downstream respectively perpendicular to the bridge which are tapered at both ends. The navigation channel past the bridge is 30 metres in width. At night a fixed white light is displayed on piers 9 and 11 as well as at the up-river and down-river ends of the protection pier.
The majority of marine traffic consists of log tows and gravel barges, which are permitted to use the navigation channel beneath the fixed span between piers 5 and 6. The swing span is used for wood chip barges and other vessels which cannot navigate beneath the span between piers 5 and 6.
CPR maintains a bridge tender 24 hours per day at an office on the north bank of the bridge. Vessels requesting passage through the swing span contact the bridge tender on marine VHF radio, whereby the tender walks the bridge to a control booth situated on the swing span. Wikipedia

January to December
A common dabbling duck, the wigeon is a winter visitor that gathers in large numbers, particularly on wet grasslands, floodplain meadows, flooded gravel pits and reservoirs with gently sloping edges where they can easily get out onto the grassy banks. Wigeon can be spotted dabbling in close-knit groups or flying in tight formations over wetlands.
The wigeon is a medium-sized duck with a round head and short bill. Males are grey with a pink breast, orange head, yellow forehead and obvious white wing patches that can be seen when they fly. Females are similar to Mallard females, but with rusty brown plumage and a pointed tail.
Found throughout the country in winter, with large numbers congregating in coastal areas. It breeds in Scotland and Northern England in very small numbers.

The female whitetails (does) enter estrus in late October and November so starting in early October the males (stags / bucks) start seeking out the locations of the does prior to the breeding season starting.
Every year the bucks shed their antlers and grow a new set in preparation for battle and hopefully attain dominance in his area. The length and branching of the antlers is determined by nutrition, age and genetics. Protein and calcium intake plus good genetics produces some admirable sets of antlers.
This young buck that I caught trying to sneak around behind me is not in his prime yet but does have a nice evenly matched 8 point set of antlers.
Length 4.5-5.5 mm. A rust-coloured bug. The forewings are patterned and largely transparent, with the corium and clavus punctate. The clavus has three rows of punctures.
K. ericae is very similar but slightly smaller and found on heathland where it is associated with heather.
Found on or around Birch trees.
When to see it - Adult: all year.
Adults overwinter, emerging and breeding in the early spring, when they fly and emit mating calls using a strigil found on one of the hind wing veins. Nymphs occur between March and September and there are several generations a year, at least in the south.
Common and found throughout England, Wales and southern Ireland.
Snowberry clearwing moths are master mimics. They can either look like a big bumble bee or a feeding hummingbird with their hovering style. Look at the length of that tongue!

Helophilus trivittatus has a wing length of 10.25–12.25 millimetres (0.404–0.482 in). The eyes are separated in both sexes, in the male a little less than in the female. The antennae are black, Face shows a wide yellow longitudinal stripe, with at most a central reddish-brown stripe. On the thorax four narrow pale yellow stripes alternate with three larger dark brown stripes. The drawing of the flattened abdomen is reminiscent of a wasp.
The drawing of the third and fourth segments of the abdomen is different in the two sexes. In the male, only the third segment carries a pale yellow to gray arc line. In the female, such a curve is found on the fourth and the fifth tergite. Tergites 2 and 3 have pale lemon yellow spots, while tergite 4 has white to grey spots. In the females tergite 3 yellow spots touch the front margin. The larva is illustrated by Hartley (1961)
