Sandhill Crane.
Between 34 to 48 inches in length with a wingspan of nearly 7 feet. They are very tall with a long neck and long legs. Largely gray with a red forehead. Juveniles browner with no red on head. Plumage often appears a rusty color because of iron stains from water of ponds or marshes.
They inhabit large freshwater marshes, prairie ponds and marshy tundra. They are also on prairies and grain fields during migration and in winter.
They range from Siberia and Alaska east across arctic Canada to the Hudson Bay and south to western Ontario. There are isolated populations in the Rocky Mountians, northern prairies, and the Great Lakes region along with in Mississippi, Georgia and Florida. They winter in California's Central Valley and across the southern states from Arizona to Florida. They can also be found in Cuba.

Village Weaver (m)
(Ploceus cucullatus)
The village weaver (Ploceus cucullatus) is a widespread species of weaver found across sub-Saharan Africa. They are notable for their gregarious nature and are often seen in flocks. It is easily recognized by its red eye, and bright yellow and black plumage, which is mostly seen in males. It measures about 15-17 cm (5.9-6.7 in) in length, with the males typically being slightly larger than the females. The breeding males of the more northern subspecies have an all black head with a chestnut nape. As we get further south in its range, the chestnut nape disappears and the amount of black on the head decreases. The southernmost subspecies only have a black face and throat. Outside of breeding season, the male loses its black head and face, which turns yellow to olive. The body becomes mostly grey, with wings remaining yellow and black. The female has a more yellow body plumage than the nonbreeding male (but not as bright yellow as that of a breeding male). Her back is also more streaked than that of the nonbreeding male.
The village weaver is very similar to other species, such as the lesser masked weaver (Ploceus intermedius) and the southern masked weaver (Ploceus velatus). The lesser masked weaver has more black on the front of its head (compared to the subspecies of village weaver it shares range with), and a white eye. The southern masked weaver can be more challenging to separate from the village weaver, as they both have red eyes, but the southern masked weaver has more of an olive-green back, and not a black and yellow back.
The Pin-tailed whydah (Vidua macroura) is a small songbird with a conspicuous pennant-like tail in breeding males. It is a resident breeding bird in most of Africa south of the Sahara Desert.
The pin-tailed whydah is 12 - 13 cm in length, although the breeding male's tail adds another 20 cm to this. The adult male has a black back and crown, and a very long black tail. The wings are dark brown with white patches, and the underparts and the head, apart from the crown, are white. The bill is bright red. The female and non-breeding male have streaked brown upperparts, whitish underparts with buff flanks, and a buff and black face pattern. They lack the long tail extension, but retain the red bill. Immature birds are like the female but plainer and with a greyish bill.
This beautiful male Pin-tailed Whydah was seen singing in a light rain, displaying its breeding plumage and was captured during a photography safari on a game drive in Nairobi National Park, Kenya.

Ruby-crowned Kinglets in coastal southern Alaska and British Columbia are slightly smaller and darker colored than elsewhere in their range.
Ruby-crowned Kinglets are olive-green birds with a prominent white eye ring and white wingbar. This wingbar contrasts with an adjacent blackish bar in the wing. The “ruby crown” of the male is only occasionally visible.
These are restless, acrobatic birds that move quickly through foliage, typically at lower and middle levels. They flick their wings almost as they go.
These little Birds rarely stop , constantly on the move.

The cheetah or hunting leopard (Acinonyx jubatus) is an atypical member of the cat family that is unique in its speed, while lacking climbing abilities. Therefore it is placed in its own genus, Acinonyx.
It is the fastest land animal, reaching speeds between 110 and 120 km/h in short bursts covering distances up to 460 m, and has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 110 km/h in three seconds.
The adult cheetah weighs from 40 to 65 kg. Its total body length is from 115 to 150 cm, while the tail can measure up to 85 cm in length. Males tend to be slightly larger than females and have slightly bigger heads. The cheetah's chest is deep and its waist is narrow. The coarse, short fur of the cheetah is tan with round black spots measuring from 2 to 3 cm across, affording it some camouflage while hunting. There are no spots on its white underside, but the tail has spots, which merge to form four to six dark rings at the end. The cheetah has a small head with high-set eyes.
There are several geographically isolated populations of cheetah, all of which are found in Africa or Southwestern Asia. The cheetah likes to live in an open biotope, such as semi-desert, prairie, and thick brush, though it can be found in a variety of habitats.

The European Kingfisher or Common Kingfisher, Alcedo atthis, is widely distributed in Europe, Africa, and Asia. It is resident except in northern areas where the rivers freeze. It will then move to milder regions. In most of its European range it is the only kingfisher.
The general colour of the upper parts of the adult bird is bright metallic blue, cobalt on the back, and showing greenish reflections on the head and wings. The ear coverts and under parts are warm chestnut, the chin and sides of neck white.
The bill is blackish and reddish orange at the base; the legs are bright red with a dark blue stripe. In the young the bill is black. Length averages 19 cm (7.5 inches) and wings average 7.5 cm (2.95 inches).
The flight of the Kingfisher is rapid, the short rounded wings whirring until they appear a mere blur. It usually flies near the water, but during courtship the male chases the female through and over the trees with loud shrill whistles.
From February onwards the male has a trilling song, a modulated repetition of many whistles. He also signals with a whistle to the female when he is feeding her, this being his share of the nesting duties. This whistle is produced even when his bill is loaded with food, yet is clear and distinct. The female will reply and emerge from the nesting hole, and may fly to meet him, take the fish from him in the air, and return to the nest.
The bird has regular perches or stands from which it fishes. These may be a few inches or many feet above the water. It sits upright, its tail pointed downwards. It drops suddenly with a splash and usually returns at once with a struggling captive.
Large fish are beaten on a bough or rail; small fish and insects are promptly swallowed. A fish is usually lifted and carried by its middle, but its position is changed, sometimes by tossing it into the air, before it is swallowed head downwards.

Wow, I have just got rid of so many sub-standard images off my computer, I don't know why I have kept images that are blurred or just not up to standard anymore, its funny how your expectations change over the years you do photography isn't it? An image that you would have been pleased with a few years ago just doesn't have to the same feel when you revisit it later.
Anyway, during my sort out I found this and decided to give it a whirl and try out some new VSCO presets that I treated myself to. They are great and look forward to trying them out further on new images. I highly recommend if you haven't got them or given them a go, you must! :-)
Hope your all having a great week, not long to the weekend!

On 31 May 2021, 151 018 was used by Lokomotion starting at Munich Ost Rbf in front of freight train DGS 41850 from Trieste Campo Marzio to Krefeld Uerdingen. Unfortunately, the former Bundesbahn six-axle locomotives can be seen more and more rarely in front of trains at Lokomotion. Relatively reliable are the services in front of the intermodal train between Ludwigshafen and Wels or the Wolfurt shuttle - but in darkness. Therefore, when the train passed through Munich South, I happily pressed the shutter release, even though the loading condition left something to be desired. I also slightly misjudged the length of the locomotive, the blocking signal in front of it was digitally removed here.
