I'm sure we all have these favorite places--the places we go back to and try to shoot better. And because we love these places, we do shoot them better. This is probably my favorite place in the Eastern Sierra for fall color. Not just this canyon--but this grove. And this is one of two of my favorite spots in the grove. This year it was lemon-limey when I visited, instead of yellow--but I still love it; perhaps I love it even more for not being the perfect yellow aspen shot.
Oh....and PS.....There's something about the marks left behind by the intersection of old branches and trunk that reminds me, in this grove, of trilobites. ;-)

As I progress through my Project 365, I am attempting photographs that I've never done before. I've thought about this photo but never really tried to do it...so, here it is!! Three lemons and a sliced lime...all I need now is a big glass of sweet tea!!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” ~Jeremiah 29:11
This design was my entry to Spoonflower Optimism Challenge with limited colour palette. Hope you like it :) x
I finally used my little metal bundt cake tin that I bought at Wm. Sonoma. It's a gold colour and very heavy. It's only 8" so quite small compared to most bundt tins. I love how it bakes, the shape of the bundt is quite different. I put a lemon/lime Xyla glaze on this cake and I had a piece. I have to say it's the moistest banana cake I've ever made.
Bright and bold dinosaur fabric with lots of lush leaves in a painterly style. New fabric for this week's Spoonflower design challenge.
friday afternoon, and i'd had enough of work for the week; i started trying to line up the recyling bins for a picture and ended up running up and down the stairs (forgetting the lifts of course), taking a picture, going back down and on and on; nobody seemed to mind...
i like this one, largely because I forgot to swap the two bins at the top round.
Rare, very early 7 Up cardboard sign dating back probably to 1935 or so. In the early years apparently the carbonated drink included lithium citrate, which was supposed to give it patent medicine qualities, an ingredient that was later removed. (At least it wasn't cocaine, like another famous soft drink included at one time.)
"Takes the 'ouch' out of Grouch." Is that any more corny than "You like it, it likes you"?
The Billion Bubble Beverage.
The bottle is a 12 foot tall replica of a bottle of Vess’s lemon lime, constructed in 1953 by Treesh Neon Sign Company. Originally erected at Hampton Av. and Gravois Blvd in South St. Louis. It revolved on a steel pole and was lit up at night with about 600 lineal feet of neon tubing.
After being found in storage it was re-erected in 1989 at its current location 520 O´Fallon Street, just north of the Edward Jones Dome.
Building in background is the McGuire Warehouse.

this was from the cleanout/estate sale I set up - there was a whole bunch of new-ish beer bottles and etc - but I spotted 3 of these - they have a great "Win a 1990 Chevrolet Corvette" contest on the back

Happy Friday everyone! Here's a picture I made one morning on the side of the highway somewhere in Oregon. There were rows of tree's that spanned for acres! The clouds were shifting and opening up pockets of blue from above. The ground was blanketed in yellow leaves that were falling from the trees as the transition into autumn began to unfold. Thanks for checking it out and have a great weekend!

I do all the work in these buttons. The polymer clay centers are what I call "Stacker Cabs", a version of my Stacker beads. And the seed bead embroidery is also my work. They have shanks embedded in the back.

Very cool-looking Art Deco 7 Up cardboard sign from the 1930s. Apparently 7 Up in the early years included lithium citrate and was promoted as a cure for hangovers, something much needed undoubtedly after the repeal of Prohibition. It also proved to be a great mixer with the newly-legalized booze.
