The parents had two remaining goslings this weekend, and the kids were learning to dive. I caught this youngster trying to go completely under water. Took him a few hard kicks and a lot of splashing, but he made it. While he was under, the closest parent would put their head and neck completely under water to watch them (I suppose), and sometimes the kids would pop up while mom or dad was under, then, almost as if the parents were concerned they couldn't see them, they'd pop their heads up to look for them, just as the youngster would go back under. Pretty darn funny to watch. Reminded me of how my kids were as toddlers.
The best cure from urban life is to go to a place where such things as regular supply of electricity, water, and telecommunications are not something you can count on. When a storm is coming, to preserve the appliances, electricity is cut in this village. Then the water pump stops working...and the telephone... and the internet connection.... So this long introduction to say a small thank you to sacrosanct electricity, Tesla, nature and all those inventors who did not receive the Nobel prize and are making our lives more comfortable...
The University Community attended an open house to celebrate the new Learning Commons located on the first floor of the Robert L. Carothers Library and Learning Commons. The open house was to introduce students, faculty and staff to the new area that boasts a full suite of resources.

Ensley Branch Library kicks off its 2019 Summer Learning activities with 55 youth attending the Paint Your Own Bags program. The kids color their own canvas bags bearing the BPL Summer Learning theme "A Universe of Stories."
Since 1993, Learning Links has provided grants of up to $1,000 for creative and interesting programs or events for classrooms in the Greater Cincinnati area.

There was a great turn out of education stakeholders from accross industry & education at our Learning Edge Conference. Attendees heard a range of interesting presentations and panels.
