It's an afternoon of music- making fun at the Avondale Regional Branch Library as their teens got an introduction to digital music creation and manipulation. They learn drum sequencing and editing techniques using digital and live samples with professional software such as Pro Tools and MPC Studio.
Well, I started out down a dirty road
Started out all alone
And the sun went down as I crossed the hill
And the town lit up, the world got still
I'm learning to fly but I ain't got wings
Coming down is the hardest thing
Well, the good ol' days may not return
And the rocks might melt and the sea may burn
I'm learning to fly but I ain't got wings
Coming down is the hardest thing
Well, some say life will beat you down
Break your heart, steal your crown
So I've started out for God knows where
I guess I'll know when I get there
I'm learning to fly around the clouds
But what goes up must come down
I'm learning to fly but I ain't got wings
Coming down is the hardest thing
I'm learning to fly around the clouds
But what goes up must come down
I'm learning to fly
I'm learning to fly

Asynchronous Learning is categorized by self-pacing. Lessons are published and students are given the option to work on assignments at their own pace.
Whew, these were hard to edit. This is my son Peter learning to walk after 6 weeks in a body cast. Color digital original, but it needed to be monochrome. The look he gives his mom is hard to see. I decided to post these in honor of the children and their parents who suffer and don't get better. God bless you all.
This shot is the reason I bought my teleconverter! This is at full zoom (12x optical, 4x digital and 1.7x teleconverter) without tripod. Not a crop...this is straight out of the camera!
Raya and I are >trying< to learn how to sow.. This is the second dress I have tried my hand at so far. It did not turn out quite as we had planned.. but we learned a lot.! Especially that we need to start learning to use measuring tape! ;P
#68661, One of the students during a Chemistry class, Summerhill School, Leiston, Suffolk. The school was founded by A.S.Neill in 1921 and is run on democratic lines with each person, adult or child, having an equal say. You don't have to go to lessons if you don't want to but could play all day. It gets above average GCSE exam results.
The Secondary school at Buttershaw has had a number of name changes since its opening in 1956.
In 1956 it opened as Buttershaw Secondary School , since then it has been Buttershaw Comprehensive, Buttershaw Upper School and Buttershaw High School. Currently it enjoys the name of Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College.
The original 1956 buildings were extended in the early 1960. Further building work continued during the 70’s 80’ and 90’s.
In 2008 the new building was opened and the old building demolished.
Recently my daughter's sixth grade class went to the Challenger Learning Center in Bloomington, IL. The Challenger Learning Center's are a series of educational centers to teach young people about space and space travel. The centers were set up by the family survivors of the Challenger disaster in 1986.

By rethinking the framework for future learning environments Inspiria Science Center by AART Architects combines learning and architecture into an eventful science center. Designed as a passive house including a wide range of eco-friendly solutions, the building design supports the activities within the science center. Daylight floods through the extensive glass facades and the many skylights into the exhibition halls and the two-story atrium. In addition a wastewater treatment plant recycles the water for use throughout the science center while a wind turbine and a solar cell panel generate electricity and a solar hot water system creates domestic hot water. These facilities are not just means to an end but are designed as a part of the exhibitions and they can be seen in action by the school children. Last but not least the science center is adapted to the surrounding landscape with the three wings radiating out from the two-storey atrium. This distinctive architecture symbolises the cycle of nature and reflects the science building’s key topics: health, energy, and the environment.

Or learning to bring things back so we can throw them again! Earlier in the week my husband accidently threw his "Wubba" (seriously that's what it's called !) and it landed on the roof. Jet really seemed to think he could get it back - if he clambered up on the bbq, so we had to distract him and get him to settle for us throwing a stick. The Wubba will probably stay on the roof for the rest of the winter, so had to get him a new one. Five minutes into the game it's looking a little the worse for wear!
There is no doubt that stepping foot into a Montessori classroom or school is entering into a whole new world and you be the person to change it as an interesting world.
