A katydid that mimics a green leaf.
Usually older katydids mimics older browner leaves.
It's wings play an important role in making it's mimicry and camouflage looks more convincing.
Name: Orthoptera > Tettigoniidae sp.
Size: about 45mm from head to wing tip
Location: Kinabalu National Park, Kundasang, Sabah, Malaysia.

My tree it now large enough that I can open the front door and reach leaves from the front step. I used the light table / lightbox again. I may need to make a proper one.
Didn't focus as well as I thought. But the female pokes holes in the bottom of the leaf for nutrients. When I was in college I had to count these suckers. Some leaves had over 500 holes. Ugh! Maybe that's why I am squinting at the screen now ;)

They are very effective and will strip large areas of plants of all their foliage.
