Not sure of the species of this leaf, but it was in one of our neighbor's pots. The sun was shining through it and the detail caught my eye.

I'm a sucker for backlighting and this is a good example why! Enjoy the green, glowing detail...

I was photographing this leaf trying to get learn my new 35mm lens and this spider came out to say hi at the perfect time!

One of the leaves I rescued for a project that never happened when the tree by our driveway was removed over a month ago.

I like those veins. Thanks for looking! Isn't God a great artist?

This young vineleaf is growing on the house wall right outside my window.

The early morning sun was hitting it so strongly I first thought these shots might

not turn out. The brick wall in the back let it look rather pale so I changed my angle

until I had the red downspout behind. It is then when I thought... wow, great reds!

Here are two of the shootings.

The inspiration behind this serene sculpture is the tranquility that we benefit from when surrounded by trees and nature - the peace that refuels our body and mind.

"I gathered Norway maple (Acer platanoides) leaves and used these as a pattern to apply to a basic bronze face. The gaps and holes around her face allow us to glimpse the natural world behind - leaving her to blend subtly into and become part of the landscape."

Simon Gudgeon, sculptor, 2019

This used to be in an open area near the Waterlily House but it looks much better in the wooded area that Kew have now moved it to.

Maple Leaf Detail - Sony A7S II, Canon FD 28mm f2.8

Yes I know another autumn leaf photo. As if there aren't enough on flickr at the moment!

Well after three days of rain the sun made a brief appearance this morning and lit up the cornus/ dogwood bush outside my window. The combination of colour and backlight was just too much to resist.
