The leaves are leaving
us this fall,
As they dry and crumple
and the trees life begins
to stall.
Perhaps some leaf art
will go well on my wall,
as I forget about the
leaves leaving this fall.

Humans may make a small but unmistakable impact on nature, but the far greater hand of artist, designer and creator is in the provision of the natural world around us.

The inspiration behind this serene sculpture is the tranquility that we benefit from when surrounded by trees and nature - the peace that refuels our body and mind.
"I gathered Norway maple (Acer platanoides) leaves and used these as a pattern to apply to a basic bronze face. The gaps and holes around her face allow us to glimpse the natural world behind - leaving her to blend subtly into and become part of the landscape."

This used to be in an open area near the Waterlily House but it looks much better in the wooded area that Kew have now moved it to.
