Two storms on the bounce and yet our cherry tree hangs on to this one single leaf. Now that's what I call defiance!
I can't for the life of me remember what the flower is but they have flowered for most of the summer and as long as I dead head them, they keep coming back. I love the dark red/orange colour and obviously so does the bee! ;0)
remembering to look down along the ground while picture taking results in gold sometimes. this shot in a nearby eugene, oregon park.
The leaves are leaving
us this fall,
As they dry and crumple
and the trees life begins
to stall.
Perhaps some leaf art
will go well on my wall,
as I forget about the
leaves leaving this fall.

Autumn is a second spring
where every leaf is a flower.

I was photographing this leaf trying to get learn my new 35mm lens and this spider came out to say hi at the perfect time!
This young vineleaf is growing on the house wall right outside my window.
The early morning sun was hitting it so strongly I first thought these shots might
not turn out. The brick wall in the back let it look rather pale so I changed my angle
until I had the red downspout behind. It is then when I thought... wow, great reds!
Here are two of the shootings.
These intriguing and talented spiders protect themselves from predators by hiding inside an impressively constructed, silk-seamed curled leaf that sits roughly at the middle of their web.
Each curled-leaf retreat, a miracle in itself.
Endemic to the eastern areas of this country. Genus Phonognatha, perhaps graeffei.
Female, 10 mm body length.
