I really appreciate your comments and faves. I'm not a hoarder of contacts, but enjoy real-life, honest people. You are much more likely to get my comments and faves in return if you fit the latter description. Just sayin. :oD

A fallen leaf, from a redbud tree, .
I like those veins. Thanks for looking! Isn't God a great artist?
A walk near the secret garden near Cemaes Bay, Anglesey, water droplets had gathered on the changing colour of this fallen leaf.

One of the leaves I rescued for a project that never happened when the tree by our driveway was removed over a month ago.
An unexpected find on the same disused railway platform as the fallen leaves in the previous photo. (Identity of the creator not known).
Where there is art, an artist has been at work. Where there is design, a designer has been at work. Where there is creation, a creator has been at work.
Humans may make a small but unmistakable impact on nature, but the far greater hand of artist, designer and creator is in the provision of the natural world around us.

The inspiration behind this serene sculpture is the tranquility that we benefit from when surrounded by trees and nature - the peace that refuels our body and mind.
"I gathered Norway maple (Acer platanoides) leaves and used these as a pattern to apply to a basic bronze face. The gaps and holes around her face allow us to glimpse the natural world behind - leaving her to blend subtly into and become part of the landscape."
Simon Gudgeon, sculptor, 2019
This used to be in an open area near the Waterlily House but it looks much better in the wooded area that Kew have now moved it to.
My son rode his bike down the street and came back. "I have something for you daddy...it's a star." When he came close he said, "It's not really a star, it's a leaf." Then he gave it to me. It was a leaf, but it was also a star. I love what pure hearts can see that our jaded hearts forget to see. In these days when we can forget to see the beauty of normal things, let's try to see with pure, un-jaded eyes. There is so much wonder to see in creation, even if it is the normal stuff in your backyard or neighborhood. Keep your eyes open friends.
