The statue representing the angel Moroni (prominent figure in the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, revered but not worshiped) stands atop the Idaho Falls Temple located on the banks of the Snake River.

I recently received permission to perform aerial photography around the temple which was a unique experience to see the temple and this statue from a different perspective.

The image was taken the with 14 mpx DJI Phantom Vision+ camera in RAW and processed in PS6.

I have been disturbed by the recent reports of people using drones irresponsibly, dangerously, and illegally. If used correctly, these aerial cameras are great tool in seeing the world in a unique and interesting way.

In doing this project of aerial photographs of the Idaho Falls Temple I have produced a video which you can view here...

Geese fly along the Snake River on a foggy morning in Idaho Falls with the silhouette of the Idaho Falls LDS Temple seen in the background.

The Gothic style Salt Lake Temple is a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) located on Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.A. At 253,015 square feet (23,505.9 m2), it is the largest LDS temple by floor area. The temple was dedicated in 1893 and it is the sixth temple completed by the church, requiring 40 years to complete, and the fourth temple built since the Mormon exodus from Nauvoo, Illinois, in 1846.

A friend of mine asked me if I'd take a picture of the LDS temple for her. Yesterday there was a beautiful frosting of the trees and the geese flew by at just the right moment. The snow in the foreground is the frozen snake river.

At the end of a special day, the LDS Temple in Logan, Utah glows in a mixture of artificial light and the brilliant color of a beautiful Cache Valley sunset. Moments like this are hard to forget!

Making progress on a multi year remodel of Mesa Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I understand it will reopen in 2020 and there will be an open hours for the public. Main Street, Mesa Arizona.

At the center of Salt Lake City stands the Temple. Its beautiful exterior pales when compared with the beauty of what happens inside.

The Idaho Falls LDS Temple is seen across the Snake River with the backdrop of a glorious sunrise.

This image is a single raw exposure using the Nikon 14-24 mm lens. Because of the configuration of this lens the use of filters has been out of the question. For this shot I tried out the new Lucroit Filter Holder with a Formart Hitech 3 stop GND filter. To cover the lens the filters are really big, about 5 x 7 inches but the whole setup seemed to work well and I am excited to use a GND filter with this awesome lens!

In sickness and in health, in good and in bad, in joy and in sorrow. Detail of the spires of the LDS Temple in Oakland, California. Clouds were moving in front of the sun and shaded one of the spires.

This afternoon in Mesa Arizona. August 9th, 2017.

Washington, D.C. LDS temple. It was raining and I didn't have long, but decided to experiment with angles and exposures anyway. I left the temple wet, but loved the experience. :)

The Salt Lake Temple is a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) on Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah.

Dedicated in 1893, it is the largest LDS temple by floor area.

Sunset over Mt. Taylor from Elena Gallegos Open Space, April 4, 2012. The LDS Temple/Tabernacle is visible at lower left.

This Christmas lights zoom shot is just for fun. I caught this shot at the Mormon Temple Christmas exhibit just outside Washington, DC. I have driven by the temple lots of times, but this is the first time I stopped for photos. Very colorful!

1st Avenue under construction looking toward the front of the Mesa Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The entire area is being redeveloped.

Colorful flowers adorn the beautiful landscaping of the grounds around the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. All are invited to come and see.
