I love coming across large clusters of fungi like this. These were growing on the side of a fallen log in the forest.

With the spring come the flowers!

The protruding base of this bowl is fitted with a mouth rim that rises relatively vertically before flaring at its top. The exterior base of the bowl is decorated with a rounded tip 10 petal, double-layer rosette. The body of the bowl is covered with 16 narrow framed arches, each fitted with a protruding male head in the top of the arch. The clothing and hair of these males have been gilded. A vessel with three-dimensional figural heads as decoration is a type known from antiquity in Greece as a "Megaran bowls" cup, and a famous example of this tradition can be seen in the ivory rhyton from the Parthian period discovered at Nisa. One explanation of this rhyton states that it might have been made in Bactria. The possibility of such a source can be also indicated by the resemblance between the male heads on this bowl and the heads seen on the ivory seahorse excavated at Takht-I Sangin.

Edited Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter image of layered rock in the Argyre Region.

I started with a green clay and used a variety of circle cutters to partially cut through the clay. I created a dome and tacked it down to a base layer. There is only air in the middle! Then I used black matte PearlEx power over the entire piece. After curing, I sanded it with 1000 grit sandpaper and polished with Renaissance wax.

Hereby hangs a LONG, frustrating and embarrassing tale! Many moons ago, I made this kinda cool photo and just rediscovered it this afternoon when I was DUMPING my Photos Library OFF the Mac and onto XT Storage! I was shooting a few pics last night for next week's Macro Mondays- and could not dump them onto my computer- BECAUSE THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH ROOM!!!! YIKES! I am a TERRIBLE housekeeper and have just neglected this for so long- and now I am caught!! I have literally spent all of last night and almost all of today and STILL have not freed up enough space! I am in a mild panic because I see TONS of other stuff that should either be chucked or stored elsewhere! Enjoy the photo and - PLEASE remember me in your photographic prayers! Thank you!!

I love this stretch of coast with all its wonderful features and very handily placed lighthouse and i was fortunate enough to have a really nice sky to work with on this occassion,so much so i've give it star billing in this upload :)

Random mountains, visible within one of the many valleys of Denali National Park. On this particular day the weather consists of spurts of rain followed by sunshine. The rainbows were fantastic, but so too were the rays of sunlight that filtered through the shifting clouds onto the layers of earth piled high and challenging everyone around to mount their heights. Layers of snow added depth and intrigue to the challenge. Nowhere else have I found such an untamed landscape on such a scale.
