I like how the last looks like a mushroom

My friends lava lamp, taken with my old Moto V505.

Sunset at Destin, FL...didn't see the green flash however.

Actually this is also one of my treasure. This is an original 1960s lava lamp - or glub lamp as my nan calls it. Not sure why she calls it that as I can find no reference on Google. Anyway, I have coveted this lamp for years. Long before the recent tacky resurrection of these gorgeous beasts. My nana being the doll that she is gave this to me about 10 years ago. I don't usually turn it on as the originals are quite dangerous if the oil gets too hot. However, tonight I turned it on. This photo doesn't do it justice but you get the idea. the wax is taking AGES to melt, i think the heater is knackered.

Me and my cousins used to nag for this to be turned on. How retro and cool is my nan? I can't wait to have a house large enough for this to have it's own corner [not that i live in a shoebox].

Nana, you rock. x

Another mixer into the mix.

It's alittle blury but I liked the movement of the "lava"

my dirty mind at work i guess, its just my lava lamp! :D

Just goofing around with a lava lamp and my new flash. The flash was camera left - about 2 feet from the lamp and 1 foot from the wall. It was also gelled (the wall behind is white).

This was taken as inspiration (my photo isn't nearly as good).

This lamp recently seen for sale is a slightly different version of the commonly seen Stardust Lites. This version features a different cap with a wooden effect and a slightly different base too. I just love the ornate base which gives this lamp its unique character. This vintage USA glitter lamp is really interesting ... Please see the photos for more details.

Lava lamp resurrected for the youngsters.

I love this thing.

I love this movie.

Looking inside this old caravan, was like stepping back in time. I used to have one of these lava lamps, back in the `60`s,

Lava Lamp 系中国制造 (但是没有找到厂家, 联系方式等信息)

The psychedelic pipe rack.

A pair of Kostka glitter lamps, boxed and with the original slip. These simple cylindrical glitter lamps are rather simple but Kostka, seems to have been a large manufacturer of these kinds of cylindrical lamps. Note the internal construction to hold the bottle in place. A lovely pair of vintage glitter lamps.

I showed you mine, now show me yours.

I can't believe there aren't more photos of lavalamps on flickr!

Has everybody just been able to resist the temptation of shooting frame after frame of these things?...

Well, I couldn't resist taking at least a couple when I was at Ugglan's for dinner over the weekend.

And I know the babe has done it.

Ugglan has done it.

Did anyone else do this lavalamp?..

OH, AND...(last time I mention this - I promise!): if you happen to be in Paris this weekend... well, just have a look here.

Lava lamp I got from Gosia again.
