On 4 February, Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao inaugurated the first Integrated Border Post (IBP) at Batugade, Bobonaro District. President Ramos-Horta, Minister of Finance Pires, Minister for Tourism and Industry Alves, the Indonesian Ambassador to Timor-Leste, and UNMIT SRSG Haq and UN Police Commissioner Carrilho attended, amongst others. The facility supports the legitimate cross border movement of people and goods for tourism, commercial and community links. The IBP consists of several border control agencies, including immigration, customs, quarantine, border police, agriculture, foreign affairs and transport. It was such a long wait till launch. About an hour. People also kept confidently pushing in leaving you wondering if they had special permission or if they were being rude.
When I finally go to launch position the official peered at me..."Are you a woman?" "Can I take your photograph?"

It was a great night of connecting, crafting and planning how to grow our garden together to improve our wellbeing as individuals and society.
