Part of the reason I take photos, as I have probably mentioned somewhere, is to get ideas out of my head or exorcise the imagery rattling around in there. Dumb trivia: I am especially sensitive about my navel (bellybutton is such a stupid weird word) and I hate people touching it, and I'm about to have to go get gallbladerectomy (laparoscopic cholecystectomy, whatever). I hate that. I can't stand the idea that part of the surgery is to make an incision near or in the navel and man I don't even care if that's just for lights or the CO2 inflation point or whatever, I don't want it.
so I end up photoshopping my abdominal area sans navel just as a way of coping
and then this ends up feeling way too confessional but oh well the point is that photography can be thereputic.

Jetse shared a program he had helped to develop for surgeons to learn how to do laparoscopic surgery by using the controls of the WiiU.
Jetse is an educational consultant at the University Medical Center of Groningen. Jetse is passionate about using and building innovative technologies to enhance medical teaching and student learning and performance.
Students from Humboldt High School joined Al Klingelhutz (PhD), Jennifer Steines (MD), Natoshia Askelson (PhD), and current medical students, Jeff Coble and Michael Miller, for a Junior Mini Medical School day in Fort Dodge, Iowa. These students had the opportunity to participate in a birthing simulation, laparoscopic training simulation, visus models, pipetting liquids, and discussion of anatomy and public health issues. This program was a partnership program with Area Health Education Centers (AHEC).

Lap Band Surgery is a weight-loss procedure where a prosthetic band is placed around the upper stomach, creating a small pouch that limits the amount of food the patient desires to eat. The procedure is performed with laparoscopic instruments, meaning the surgery is minimally invasive with relatively insignificant recovery times.
Lakeland was proud to host one of the first Sheep Trans-Cervical artificial insemination (AI) courses in Western Canada this weekend. Phil Purdy (USDA) and Dr Carl Lessard demonstrated and coached the participants through the procedure. This low cost alternative to laparoscopic AI enables farmers to control breeding synchronization independently of veterinary staff availability and schedule constraints. This potentially can mature the North American distribution network of lamb genetics. Alumni Jason Cooper organized the two day intensive clinic with funding from Saskatchewan's Sheep Development Board, Agriculture Demonstration of Practices and Technology (ADOPT) program and Alberta lamb Produers. Jason and his colleagues state that Trans-Cervical AI can positively impact the N. American distribution network of lamb genetics. Growing and maturing sheep farming that currently supplies 40% of domestic demand.
