We visited my host sister Valerie in her dorm in omaha to pick her up befor a concert. She studies something with design and all around her dorm there were so many cool things she did. She's a great artist. this is the lamp that was in her livingroom, I only made a photograph of it because I thought the lights and shaddows looked cool.
the lamp in my den. The table came from GoodWill in 1999. The lamp came from GoodWill in 1998. The shade came from an estate sale on a different lamp in 2004 (see the basement lamp on the TV), and the photo came from a junk store in Omaha in 2003. Sometimes it scares me how little of my belongings were bought new.
A closer shot of the Tiffany lamp. They chose it because I like pink, but of course for some reason my condo is completely lacking in pink. But not anymore!
About time to upload some pictures from home. To start with here some very old ones which I don't want to miss for some reason.
These are two of the many original gas lanterns that still exist in Düsseldorf. Unfortunately politicians decided - against some protest - to replace the gas with by LEDs. I wanted to make it a project to preserve the different models in pictures but somehow got stuck in the beginnings. Should hurry up to get it going again before they are all gone.
I found this old, rosty oil lamp inside of an abandoned brewery.

Photographed along the Thames near the OXO tower, this is a picture of the classic street lamps that adorn this part of the riverside. Taken during a very dramatic sunset.
While camping this weekend at Naples KOA Campgroud, I finally dragged myself out of bed around 5 am, the morning after the supermoon, to head down to the causeway of Long Lake and hopefully catch some interesting clouds. Unfortunately, no clouds were to be found. Looking around for something to work with so my early morning efforts weren't a total bust, I noticed the full moon still visible in the sky. Noticing the lamp posts which lined the boardwalk of the causeway, I suddenly had the idea of composing the moon to appear as a globe of the lamp. Shooting two separate frames to ensure both the lamp and the moon were in focus, I merged them in post for the final image. #Naples #Maine #moon #supermoon
