Strong family relationships are valued in Spain and the elderly are respected and seen as wise from their life experiences. Unfortunately, the world is changing so rapidly that the life lessons that the elderly try to teach get lost over time and the elderly cannot keep up with the technological changes. This painting shows an elderly woman peering through her glasses with a confused or concerned look to symbolize her not understanding societal changes today and potentially concerned for where society and the world are headed in the future.
