Imagination is more important than knowledge because knowledge is limited whereas imagination encompasses the whole world.

Already in protohistoric times the sheep tracks were long paths beaten by the herds and the flocks, but their roots lie in the millennial traces that ancient people traced in their migrations following both their own instinct and the motion of the stars, the courses of the rivers or the colors horizon.

A geological hammer, in memory of Mary Anning (1799-1847) from Lyme Regis/Dorset, fossil collector and lay palaeontologist and one of the key figures in the discovery of dinosaurs. She was not an "Anglican gentleman", not part of the establishment, but a dissenter and a woman and as such not allowed to join the Geological Society of London. Harrow school library. The Vaughan Library is over 150 years old and was designed in Victorian Gothic style by George Gilbert Scott, who also conceived St Pancras Station in London. Refurbished and enlarged 23 years ago, it is staffed today by qualified librarians and open daily for boys to study, browse and enjoy a quiet space.
It’s important to know who you are. At least until you figure out that who you are has nothing to do with anything you think about that.

According to my humble knowledge, this is a Jizo statue.
Information found on internet:
""Jizo is the Japanese version of Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha, a Buddhist god worshiped mainly in East Asia. Jizo is, without doubt, one of the most popular and lovable of the Buddhist divinities and he has all the wisdom of the Lord Buddha himself, with this important difference, namely, that Jizo has waived aside Nirvana, and does not sit upon the Golden Lotus, but has become, through an exquisitely beautiful self-sacrifice, the divine playmate and protector of Japanese children.
‘O-Jizo-san‘ in Japanese honorific language, is the God of smiles and long sleeves, the enemy of evil spirits, and the one being who can heal the wound of a mother who has lost her child in death. Jizo is also the guardian of travelers, women and the weak.
You can find Jizo peeking out among the grasses along the road, standing at intersections, overseeing borders, or sitting in a wooden shelter built especially for him.
Jizo is at temples too, where sometimes he holds a baby in his arms. He is found at boundaries between places both physical and spiritual, between here and there, life and death.
Jizo represents a monk, and when people dress a monk statue, they accrue merit. Dressing Jizo gives people a chance to interact with him.""
Here you see a close up from his fascinating expression on his face.
Or is it a Common Raven? Well, based on my limited knowledge of these birds, I'm pretty sure it's a crow. Their respective habitats overlap throughout a lot of North America. This one sits in a bare Aspen tree in Vail, Colorado, on a cold, sunny day.

Beautiful rocks!
Artiste : David Ruben Piqtoukun
Titre : Grandfather Akwesasne
Date : 1999
Artist: David Ruben Piqtoukun
Title: Grandfather Akwesasne
Date: 1999 Material: stone (granite)
Origin of the artist: Inuk, born in Paulatuk (NWT), having grown up between Inuit traditions and Southern culture. Meaning and reading Piqtoukun is recognized for his sculptures which unite: inuit myths personal stories reflection on the passage between cultural worlds.
In this work, the engraved lines evoke both: journeys, memories inscribed in matter, invisible forces that circulate between past and present.
The title invokes the figure of the grandfather – not only a family ancestor, but a symbolic presence: the one who carries knowledge, continuity, survival.
Placed outside, subject to the wind, snow and seasons, the sculpture itself becomes a living being in the landscape. In winter, snow acts almost like a ritual veil that reveals certain lines and hides others.

I am publishing today this portrait made in Vietnam in 23 and that has participated in a couple of international selections and therefore, I could not publish before. It is a veteran that I met in Hanoi, where he now lives

In the shady autumn forest, where mushrooms of all colors grew from the moss-covered ground, I met an elderly couple. They were originally from Vladivostok and had been living in Germany for 25 years. With a confident eye, they collected edible mushrooms and knew each species by name. The woman told me about traditional recipes and remedies, some of which are made with vodka—knowledge she had gained not from books, but from experience. Buy mushrooms? Only button mushrooms, and even then rarely. Everything else is far too dangerous.
And so a beautiful moment in the forest turned into a rich exchange about nature, origins, and ancient knowledge.

The phrase “Knowledge is power” is commonly attributed to Francis Bacon,1597
I am beginning to wonder --
recently it seems the "power is power" and knowledge seems to have no place in American politics.
On Tuesday, the director of the US National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, resigned over the war in Iran, urging Trump to "reverse course".
In a letter, Kent argued that Iran posed no imminent threat to the US, despite the administration's repeated claims to the contrary.
Recently, Donald Trump made several blunt comments about Joe Kent after Kent resigned from his role as director of the National Counterterrorism Center in March 2026.
What Trump said:
Trump dismissed Kent as “weak on security”.
He said it was “a good thing that he’s out” of the administration.
He criticised Kent’s judgement, saying people who think Iran isn’t a threat are “not smart” or “not savvy.”
Kent resigned in protest over the U.S. war with Iran, arguing the conflict was unnecessary and based on misleading information.
Trump, by contrast, has defended the war as necessary for national security and based on credible threats.
And the weirdest bit of all - - - Trump nominated Kent in February 2025 to be director of the National Counterterrorism Center.
The current church stands on the place where probably for centuries an older shrine had stood. You shouldn't trust legends fully, but often is true that where there's no fire, there's also no smoke. And the old legend attributes building of this church ancestor as well of the nearby Planina castle - to giants. Supposedly two brothers were building the two buildings, having only one big hammer. So, they were simply throwing it to each other, from one hill to another. Our ancestors often named indigenous people "ajdi" (plural). Those people remained from the ancient Roman empire, they had knowledge and were Christians. It's quite possible that some kind of a shrine stood on the hill already in the early middle ages. The more reliable documents say that the current church was erected in the 15th century and rebuilt into the present shape in the middle of the 18th century, partly also in the century after.
