They treat words and other manifestations of thought as objects that can be freely manipulated to create new meaning.
They break meaning up into individual words to facilitate a more fluid, intuitive, and improvisational approach to knowledge production.

The Kennedy Space Center: Gateway to the Cosmos
Introduction:
The Kennedy Space Center (KSC) stands as a testament to human curiosity, ingenuity, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge. Nestled on the east coast of Florida, this iconic spaceport has played a pivotal role in shaping the history of space exploration. Established in 1962, the Kennedy Space Center has been at the forefront of NASA's endeavors, serving as the launch site for numerous historic missions and contributing significantly to our understanding of the universe.
Historical Background:
Named after President John F. Kennedy, a visionary leader who emphasized the importance of space exploration, the Kennedy Space Center has a rich history. Kennedy's vision was realized with the Apollo program, which aimed to land humans on the Moon. The first historic launch from KSC occurred on May 5, 1961, when astronaut Alan Shepard became the first American in space aboard the Freedom 7 spacecraft. Subsequently, KSC became synonymous with space missions, evolving into a symbol of human achievement.
Launch Complexes and Infrastructure:
One of the key features of the Kennedy Space Center is its elaborate infrastructure, including the iconic launch complexes that dot the landscape. Launch Complex 39A and 39B, in particular, have been instrumental in facilitating some of the most historic space missions, including the Apollo and Space Shuttle launches. These complexes have undergone modifications to accommodate new launch vehicles, adapting to the evolving landscape of space exploration.
The Space Shuttle Era:
The Kennedy Space Center played a pivotal role in the Space Shuttle program, which spanned from 1981 to 2011. The Space Shuttle, a revolutionary reusable spacecraft, was launched from KSC numerous times, facilitating the deployment of satellites, conducting scientific research, and assembling the International Space Station (ISS). The Space Shuttle era solidified KSC's reputation as a hub for innovation and technological advancement.
Modern Endeavors:
In the 21st century, the Kennedy Space Center continues to be a hub of activity. The center has been a focal point for NASA's Artemis program, aiming to return humans to the Moon and eventually embark on crewed missions to Mars. Additionally, KSC has embraced commercial space endeavors, with private companies utilizing its facilities for satellite launches and crewed missions.
Visitor Complex:
Beyond its operational significance, the Kennedy Space Center welcomes millions of visitors each year through its Visitor Complex. Here, space enthusiasts can explore exhibits, learn about the history of space exploration, and witness the awe-inspiring Space Shuttle Atlantis, which is on display. The Visitor Complex serves as an educational hub, inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and space enthusiasts.

3-4 October, 2023, Rabat. The UfM Workshops on Rules of Origin were held in Rabat on October 3 and 4, 2023 to impart knowledge of trade regulations to both government and private sector stakeholders in Morocco. Organised by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) with the support of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), they provided insight into rules of origin, including the new transitional rules, and information on specific Harmonized System Codes relevant to various industries operating within pertinent trade agreements. Deputy Secretary General Dr. Abdelkader El Khissassi from the Economic Development and Employment Division represented the UfM at the event, while Ms. Alicia Figueroa was there from GIZ.
More than 58 people participated in the workshops that were divided into two distinct sessions, one for government officials and another for private sector representatives. The government-focused training module provided responsible staff officers with a deeper understanding of the conceptual and legal aspects of rules of origin to facilitate stakeholder consultations during trade negotiations. Moreover, rules of origin handbooks were developed and practical coaching sessions were conducted to assist both government and private sector participants with understanding and applying these rules effectively.
The training sessions progressed from the fundamental concepts of rules of origin, with a focus on the new Transitional Rules of Origin, to the more specific aspects of the Pan-Euro-Mediterranean Convention and its relevance to both preferential and transitional rules of origin. Additionally, they served as an occasion to present new administrative procedures and product-specific rules of origin under the Transitional Rules of Origin and provide an update on new administrative processes.
Practical case studies drawn from various countries and economic sectors, covering different product types, were employed to illustrate how the Pan-Euro-Mediterranean Convention operates in diverse scenarios. Participants engaged with these case studies and had the opportunity to resolve them with guidance from the instructor, gaining a deeper understanding of the correct application of rules of origin.
Given the inherent complexities of rules of origin, these sessions helped stakeholders comprehend the practical nuances of this critical aspect of international trade. Active interaction with the instructor fostered discussions and an exchange of ideas, with a question-and-answer sessions concluding each workshop ensuring that participants left with a more solid grasp of the topics covered.
