I'm trying to concentrate things that concentrate.
I'm trying to concentrate things that I'm trying to concentrate.
knowing how much i love cooking, the guys gave me total freedom to do with the kitchen as i wish. so while it poured rain all day i threw on the ipod and re-arranged, condensed, and shifted. david came home and was thrilled- we're both looking forward to doing a lot more cooking in here now! and we've all agreed on the new wall color, so that'll be another project in the coming weeks...
Knowing Abbey's housetrailer from his days described in Desert Solitaire was located along the Willow Flats road near Balanced Rock, I surmised this might have been the spot (I could've asked a ranger, but what's the fun in that?). It's not far from the current paved road, with the La Sal Mountains visible in the distance (as he described). There's enough space where a trailer may have once stood, and it's now a maintenance yard of sorts, with a few jersey barriers lined up and other signs of administration. Seems plausible to me that a site that once housed a trailer meant for a park employee would now be used to store -- out of sight from the main road -- some of the tools and equipment used today.
Leading away from me the narrow dirt road, an alluring and primitive track into nowhere, meanders down the slope and toward the heart of the labyrinth of naked stone. Near the first group of arches, looming over a bend in the road, is a balanced rock about fifty feet high, mounted on a pedestal of equal height; it looks like a head from Easter island, a stone god or a petrified ogre.

Knowing fully well that unpacking is going to take most of daylight hours out of the equation and after reading the review here indergaard.net/2013/10/11/one-year-with-a-leica-monochrom... I wasn't too bothered. Until I uploaded the files. He was shooting with much more available light and without two toddlers in tow (with their own agenda, even dragging me to restart the walk, little people are not very patient). Forgetting that, I was too optimistic. Any, I mean *any* mistake in exposure means I can throw that image away. The noise is considerable or actually way better than many dSLR etc but not to be discounted. I do not really mind noise as such in BW images but editing the file becomes a very restricted joyless process ;-) Especially when subject is already kind of boring :-P After using 8000 and 10000 ISO for a while and today finding this www.reddotforum.com/content/2015/06/bw-iso-showdown-leica... I do think I'll stick to the limit of not going past 6400. But, being me, I will for sure try 10000 in a well lit area, just to see how that goes :-D

It's been raining all day here in new york city. There was a period there I actually felt like it rained every week of the year to date but then the meteorologists have said we have not had rain in over a month or so. I wanted to go out and shoot but I've been trapped inside reworking my portfolio which has taken a lot more time than I really expected. It's taking time away from almost everything and it makes me feel awkward to be honest...I don't like being out of routine but it is what it is and you do what you have to do.
I'm thankful I have my photography though, it's been more than a blessing. It's been the great therapy I need to distract me from life's stresses. Its something I can delve right in and get lost in. I certainly wouldn't know what else to do at this point.
I wonder what stresses in life she has, we all have them that's for sure. I really like her hair cover. Very old school. She was seating at a bus stop in Harlem on 116th street. I was at his Jamaican restaurant that always looks empty when you go in, possibly because no one is behind the counter but if you yell they come out.The food tray also look empty but they have food in the back. Check it out, on the corner of 116th and Adam Clayton Powell BLVD.
Lady lady, that's what I'm going to call her. Lady lady, I hope you had a pleasant day. Lady Lady I hope today's rain wiped away your stresses. Lady Lady I hope the bus took you where you wanted to go. Lady Lady thank you for letting me take your photo. Lady lady, happiness be on to you and everyone you share your smile with. Lady lady let our paths cross again so I get a shot of you from the front.

Just a stock photo. Thanks to Rizal for the pose mate, just recently viewed this collection we did almost 4 years ago and it rocks, too much rocks!
Or it could read "No Fun Allowed". Walking and parking of cars is allowed - hope I was 'allowed' to take the picture 0_o`

When sitting up on the top of our steps I spotted my cats mirroring each other! One on my left... the other on my right! LOL
