This Wild Journal is a hardcover. It's covered with a soft fleece fabric. The corners of this journal are covered with metal silver book corners. The bookplate is a contrasting black metal with zebras on both sides of the plate. The interior front and back cover have vintage zebras in the center of the cover. The signature covers also feature vintage zebras on the front and back of the signature. On the inside of the signature cover are pockets with ephemera such as bookmarks/tags, notebooks, and altered playing cards. There are three signatures in this journal. The closure is on the outside of the cover and attached to the spine with a decorative ribbon (please don't pick it up by this ribbon). In one of the signatures is a dangly that is silver foil charm. At the back of the journal is an envelope that has a writing board in it. In the corner of the writing board, I've placed a silver zebra charm. On the spine is a single charm. It was too lovely to cover up with other charms.
Much like the running of the bulls, this is a yearly tradition for us. My 3 daughters, one girl friend and myself spent the day making these lovely journals.
They are not embellished yet, but the hard part is done. We always do this when the school supplies go on sale at Wal-mart each year. We make a supply to last us for the year.
We use them for school work, journals, and gifts. :o)
I made 5 Katie made 4, Brie made 5, Sarah made 10 and Rachel made 10. So 15 are not even in this picture they had already gone home.
For the 3rd year I will be participating in the oneyearartjournal.blogspot.com prompt blog. I've, again, made a custom art journal, and here is the cover

Journal page with the theme of The Cross, done for a journal class. The assignment was Resonate, to find images in my photo archive which strike a chord. As a resonse to writing assigments I added text with a gel pen and scratched the surface with an awl to create marks.
This is a small art journal. I was going to do my art journal digitally but I am on the computer enough. I want to get m hands dirty but I have a limited amount of time so I made a little journal. Hopefully I will be able to spend more time on these prompts after the show and really be able to play.
This is my first attempt at making a journaling prompt jar. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, and I can't wait to start creating my journal!
I am attempting to restart art journaling - I figure the easiest way is to stick with my little planner I made and just cover it up each day - 5"x2" isn't that hard to fill so this should be an easy way to get back into it.
Comparison of journals in "my area" based on SNIPP (journal impact) and h-index. The green dots indicate journals that are open access and there's a vague suggestion here that the open access journals have a higher h5 measure than SNIPP. Perhaps suggesting that open == more citations, but I'd have to look in more detail at the difference between SNIPP and h5 to be certain.

Another quote, this one from E.A. Poe. One of my metallic markers broke so I just started smearing it along the bottom. The paper lining the top and bottom was way textured and awesome.
Clippings, metallic marker, pastels, pen, sharpie, watercolor.
