Journaling says:
I declare my intention to Journal my Christmas. Writing something down every day. Creating a little bit whenever possible. Getting my stories documented for myself and maybe for others to read too.
I hope by taking a little time each day to reflect, to write, to create, I will keep my Christmas alive and well, despite the commercial pressure that exists outside my door. Family, friends and hot beverages will help. I may meet others taking this same journey.
I may share my work from time to time. I may remember just why I loved Christmas in the first place, and that may be a very magical moment indeed.
This is a journal I made, based on my bookmaking workshop "Revival: An Awakening." The journal revival starts with an old book that is turned into a new, one-of-a-kind, handmade journal. I'm teaching this workshop at Journalfest 2011
my journaling has grown beyond the notebook...and onto a canvas... it reads:
sometimes i long to be somewhere...in a room with a view of a tree or a garden, where i can just take a deep breath. and sometimes, i am just happy to be where i am.
My first time at collaging a journal. These three pages belong in my own journal and are based on the things I love. I'm really looking forward to collaging other pages for my friends' journals :)
Last fall, I auditioned for Mortified and was accepted. I'll be appearing in an upcoming show and this is the high school journal I'll be reading from.

This evening's journaling was a time to unwind and focus on something soft and sweet-- Silver-- after a tough day. Silver is VERY squirmy and restless right now, though, so hard to sketch. She was just diagnosed as hyperthyroid, and she is truly HYPER. Hopefully the medication will help soon, as I think she's exhausting herself. The watercolor is from a photo, done without sketching first; the pen sketches were from life.
