I love the song that says "When you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance", that was the inspiration for this page.

WIll add journaling later because I think I want to keep it private.

This evening's journaling was a time to unwind and focus on something soft and sweet-- Silver-- after a tough day. Silver is VERY squirmy and restless right now, though, so hard to sketch. She was just diagnosed as hyperthyroid, and she is truly HYPER. Hopefully the medication will help soon, as I think she's exhausting herself. The watercolor is from a photo, done without sketching first; the pen sketches were from life.

one of my first journals i made...well, probably the 4th or 5th one.

my visual journal, still a work in progress.

The Fall Journal is made from vintage fabric from the 1960/70s. This vibrant fabric bedazzles the eyes and invites the owner to write secrets within its pages. The journal has four charms on the spine including a mini-picture journal. The signature cover pages are collaged from real leaves, pictures of birds, and stickers. The pages are naturally dyed with avocados, onion skins, tea, and coffee. The inside cover panels are painted by hand and match the colors of the fabric. This journal features altered playing cards, tags, and notepads. The pages are plain and the matching ephemera is provided in case you would like to decorate the journal, there is matching ephemera.

This calendar journal is 12" x 12". It is made from a variety of papers and collage elements and enhanced with chalk, acrylic, watercolour pencils, stamping (homemade), 3d glaze.

My third journal quilt, addressing the issue of getting body and spirit to work together to create art. 8.5" x 11"

I loved this journal. Fridge magnets on the cover of it, and a button that fell off my pants the last day I wrote in it. I ceremoniously tied it on with string and waved it goodbye.

I have never filled every page of a journal, because I always find one I think is prettier and simply cannot wait to move on to it. I guess that says something about me, right?

Anyway, this beauty was an exception, and I completed the entire thing (although it took me one and a half years... whilst using this I simultaneously wrote in pocket journals (x3 - none of which were ever completed), a travel journal (which I subsequently lost at JFK airport, along with my glasses) and a visual journal (i.e. i tried to draw, but mainly just wrote big titles in pretty pens...)
