Freya writing in her journal on the train to Glasgow after an early morning departure from my mum's.

This A6 journal is made of soft leather in burgundy red color. Filled with a good quality blank drawing paper.

Art Journal made with fabric & canvas.

Took my journal camping with me last July. It was the first real camping trip I've ever been on! I tried to get some of the grounds from the percolator to stick but they wouldn't...

today is my first wreck the journal day! the journal is still in perfect condition as delivered by amazon. i hope this will change soon :)

mainly kitty inspired me with her journal wrecking activities ;) and i want to give it a try too. get all creative. be crazy. cross boundaries. have fun. do some art.

well, let's see how it goes :)

Stitched in color journal cover front. Christmas gift for my delightful sister in law. I need to find the time to make one myself. Fantastic tutorial here: www.stitchedincolor.com/2012/08/tutorial-journal-covers.html

Altered art journal page spread for the past week. It includes the altered book pages that I have journaled on and then attached papers generated and gathered. The watercolor landscape that I cut in half is the result of experimenting with the Dr. Ph. Martin's watercolors that I recently received and then enhancing that mess into something like a landscape. The beauty of this process is that is doesn't matter if I like the outcome. The purpose is to create an interesting background for journaling.

This is in my teeny tiny doodle journal.

Third year of our round robin swapping. This is my page for Sandy's journal. Her inspiration page had a lot of 7s on it (we are a group of 7 participating.) So I carried that through with my collage and paint spread. Lot's of Paper Artsy Fresco paints, some glitter ink (dark blue), some penwork with my platinum carbon fountain pen, and collage.

These are some older photos I thought I would share. I made the clothes on the Tonner dolls. When I was doing a lot of sewing and knitting for dolls, I would record the outfits in a composition book. It was my first visual journaling.

some pieces of an old journal i kept when i moved in with my best friend to get my head back together from(and during) a series of disasters. this "sacred black book" went with me everywhere to jot down every thought and instance to try to figure out everything around me. i like to pull it out every once in a while and laugh because i think it's fair to say i was pretty crazy at the time, but i also remember how important it was to figuring myself out. i almost feel a little awkward sharing it. but i also feel like it's okay now.

yeah ! this is my first art journal maybe is not very elaborate ,but i love it , i dont ussualy draw on it just some times, because i dont have alot of time , and yeah ! im young i just have 13years , i wish that when im older my drawing gets BETTER ... but practicing makes the master ,

Remember when the Journal looked like this? Even though Dow Jones was already fiddling with its format, it was still an arguably serious-looking newspaper. It wasn't that long ago. This is a yellowing issue I found in my files. It's from 2003. Even though DJ was already on its way to reformatting - and ruining - the paper, Rupert Murdoch came along and finished the job. I wish I could find an issue from before this generation -- when they more prominently used the hedcuts - or stipple - illustrations.

A little illustrated journal entry that turned out to be ironic. I grew up on a dairy farm that had been in the family for generations. It was sold a decade ago, though I think of it often, dream about it, and like to base some of my art on it. I was in the middle of this sketch when my brother called to say the barn was destroyed in an electrical fire Friday night. A pig and a few chickens were lost, a horse and cow escaped unharmed. What made me decide to draw this yesterday, I wonder.
