We are the Coyne Family, Nancy, Garrett, Palmer and Joe. We live in Gilbertsville, PA, USA. Garrett has a rare genetic neurological disease called Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) type 1, infantile or Batten Disease. He inherited this disease because Joe and I are both recessive carriers. It is a horrific, fatal disease that is breaking down Garrett but he is still a happy, lovable, curious boy. He was once able to pick out airplanes in the sky, now he is blind. This disease is stealing our son and there is no cure or treatment. We definitely live, "Day-by-day, Hand-in-hand"!

Pulmonary Hypertension is a Rare and Incurable Disease by Rare Disease Day

My name is Alex. I have had Pulmonary Hypertension for the past 19 years or so, but was diagnosed 17 years ago. It usually takes a PH'er 2.8 years and 3 doctors before getting a correct diagnosis.
