my purpose was to show my pictures to a few friends of mine. things have turned out differently. i didn't expect to meet so many amazing photographers, so many nicest people, and to learn so much.

i'm grateful for this experience, and i thank all of you for your lovely comments, constant support and constructive criticism.

i haven't been very active recently 'cos i'm way too much busy at work, but i want you to know how much i enjoy and appreciate all the comments i get

Durdle Door is one of the most photographed landmarks along the Jurassic Coast. This rock arch in the sea was formed as a result of the softer rocks being eroded away behind the hard limestones, allowing the sea to punch through them. Eventually the arch will collapse to leave a sea stack such as those that can be seen at Ladram Bay in East Devon. Below the cliffs lies a sweeping beach that was once three separate coves.

Europe - UK - United Kingdom - England - Somerset - Weston-Super-Mare - Coastal town & seaside resort with 2nd highest tidal range in world, which can be up to 15 meters - Causeway to Knightstone Island during extremely high tide - Sunset time

This is one of those unique locations that I never forget to arrive to. I got there with this high tide photo in mind, however when I reached this seaside town, I saw the sea being literally miles away from the shore. I thought to myself, how will the sea come all the way from there (miles away) to here, and go high enough to cover this walkway. It did at the end, as it was full moon when the tide is always the highest. Later on when I did some more internet research I found out that this place has the 2nd highest tidal range in world, which explained a lot. Very unique place !

The left side of this photo is where the sea water remains during low tide, so the people can still swim, when the sea is far away again. Very useful invention, which can be found in some other English locations as well as in Brittany, France where tidal difference can be very significant too.

Less known than Plitvice Lakes, but equally stunning, the Krka National Park is situated along the Krka River in southern Croatia. It's known for a series of 7 waterfalls. In the south, Skradinski Buk waterfall is flanked by traditional watermills. To the north, a nature trail passes another striking cascade, Roški Slap.

Europe - Czech Republic - Czechia - Jižní Morava - South Moravia - Moravské Toskánsko - Moravian Tuscany - Soft rolling, bright green hills during spring time - Slavná Moravská pole behem jara - Ikonická Kaplička sv. Barbory - Iconic Santa Barbara chapel

I wanted to return to these now iconic Moravian rolling fields for some time. The timing is very important and it was perfect this year. Amazing weather, wonderfully fresh bright spring green fields and many trees in bloom (not these ones). However I could not express how big my surprise was to find endless crowds of photographers from so many different countries in the middle of those fields. Complete shock to see the power of internet in this previously unknown and unheard location. Luckily you have to shoot with very big zoom lens 95% of the time, so you don't have to capture, and therefore avoid, the crowd you are forced to be part of. Timing is extremely important here, as the landscape that is pure magic of playful light and shadow game about 30 mins after sunrise or before sunset for about an hour, turns completely flat after that.

These little chapels are dotted all around the landscape. The history tells us that they were built so the farm workers could worship during the long working days.

Manarola is the second of the five hamlets found in Cinque Terre, a collection of tiny fishing villages perched along the Ligurian Coast. The tiny harbor at Manarola features a boat ramp, picturesque buildings tripping down the ravine and the town's swimming hole. Although there is no real beach here, it has some of the best deep-water swimming around.

Perched on a steep cape of dark rock, with its small port enclosed by two rocky boulders, a village of ancient origins found by the inhabitants of the (probably Roman) Volastra settlement. Manarola, like the other Cinque Terre villages, is known for its tower-houses; the layout of the village develops around the subsurface course of the Groppo stream which marks out its main axis. From the sunken stream a series of narrow stone-paved streets lead off towards houses and vegetable gardens on both sides of the cape. Parallel to the main axis runs the Via di Mezzo (Middle Street) that used to be a particularly important byway before the stream was covered over. Above the houses there lies an interesting square in which all the religious buildings are located. Another peculiarity of Manarola is a pyramid in white cement whose peak can be seen rising between the taller houses and is used as a navigational reference point for all those at sea.

Month of June with its longest days offers wonderful fully lit rocky shore by setting sun on the other side, that said if you are lucky and have a sun light at all. Madeira weather can be really playful and the island often hides in large clouds. I waited on this spot for 3 hours, just in case the sun showed up for short period of time. This wonderful light lasted only for 10 mins at the end of the long cloudy wait.

Ever since road tripping in Australia I had a fascination for Boab / Baobab trees and any similar species.

Brachychiton rupestris, commonly known as the narrow-leaved bottle tree or Queensland bottle tree, is a tree in the family Malvaceae native to Queensland, Australia. Discovered and described by Sir Thomas Mitchell and John Lindley in 1848, it gained its name from its bulbous trunk, which can be up to 3.5 metres diameter at breast height. Reaching 10–25 metres high, the Queensland bottle tree is deciduous, losing its leaves between September and December. The leaves are simple or divided, with one or more narrow leaf blades up to 11 centimetres long and 2 centimetres wide. Cream flowers appear from September to November, and are followed by woody boat-shaped follicles that ripen from November to May.

Czech Republic might be located in the middle of Europe, with the nearest sea located about 700km far away, however once upon the time, it used to be submerged in warm tropical sea waters. Main evidence of that are very unique multiple rocky sandstone towns created by forces of nature through millennia.

There are 4 different areas or those spectacular rocky towns - Bohemian Switzerland National Park (České Švýcarsko Národní park), Bohemian Paradise Protected Landscape Area (Český Ráj), Kokořínsko Protected Landscape Area & Adršpach.

This timelapse video captures some iconic locations in the first 3 mentioned areas.

Europe - Portugal - Região Norte - North Region - Amarante - Cathedral of Saint Goncalo next to Ponte São Gonçalo - Large arched bridge over Tâmega River

Yet one more of those lesser known places in Portugal - Amarante. Despite most of the town not being very appealing, the historical center with its stunning cathedral and ancient bridge are real gems, certainly worth the visit, add perfectly calm river mirroring the scene above and shot like this can be created.

If there is one word that best captures Dongchuan Red Land, it must be "palette". It is such an amazing spectacle that you can never imagine if you have never been there. God knocked over his palette, dropping the heaven paint, which makes Dongchuan such a stunning masterpiece. Red, green, white and yellow are matched into rolling rainbow ribbons stretching to sky.

Dongchuan, a rural area in the northeast of Kunming, is believed that it has the world's most imposing red earth, even more magnificent than that in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Because of the warm and humid climate in Yunnan, the Iron oxide in the soil deposited slowly through years and gradually developed an extraordinary reddish brown soil. It is seldom visited by general tourists for its remoteness, however, the land with picturesque scenery is paradise for photography fans.

Dongchuan Red Land offers the most attractive colors in China. It is decorated with multi-color crops. Fiery red soil, emerald green barley, golden yellow buckwheat and snow white oil flowers against the floating clouds, ever-changing light and the deep blue sky make a marvelous painting, bringing not only the strongest visual impact. It becomes the mecca for passionate photographers around the China. This is another one of my most visited areas of our photo tours in the late spring and the fall.

Felicitations to you all and my pardons for being tardy in writing but my Grand Tour has become quite hellish to say the least.

Mother and Father took me to the ancient libraries that I had been so desperately begging them to allow me to see and one would stress quite strongly that you really should obey the Librarians when they tell you not to speak within their hallowed halls.

We may have had a slightly unfortunate incident when I was translating from an ancient tome that is transcribed in most wondrous Latin. One may have mispronounced a few words but trust me, not all accidents are as terrible as they seem and I appear to have acquired a new delicious taste for Latin. I really do not know why they say this is a dead language though as I found it quite lively and transforming.

Aside from that, my parents are a portrait of fine health, even my dearest little brother, bless him. He has not once bothered me since that incident. One could say he has become rather much like a retiring wall flower of late and I can continue my studies of all these fine books in peace.

Please expect several trunks of books to be delivered to the family library as my purchases are outstripping our ability to travel lightly. Also there will be a crate with three portraits packed inside, please set them up in the attic. I will have them hung in the gallery when I return.

I'm not sure where to start when it comes to this shot... maybe YEY!! I finally got the lightning shot I'm happy with... Finally !! It was the perfect day and evening... well, my perfect - meaning, very dramatic weather, stunning clouds and at the end absolutely amazing storm, one of those that felt like the end of the world. So instead of running home as most people do, I tried to find the perfect spot. This particular location has worked really nicely with the leading path on dijk, nicely complimening that amazing cloud and above all - the lightning hit in perflect spot to finalize the composition !

To capture the lightning is never easy, first - it happends rarely, when it does, it generally happens at night, so not much chance for nice composition... and when it all works out and you have the perfect storm, you are on the perfect place, where it is still not raining on you (which happened very shortly after this shot), and when you are reasonably lucky with more lightning around you... the intensity varies. It is never the same, never on the same place and never in same intensity, so to set up the camera right, while trying not to be blown away by the strong wind is a chalenge...
