A greater adjutant (Leptoptilos dubius) was landing near its fellow friends with noisy wing actions and a perfect posture. Surely they are not the most elegant looking species on Earth but ecologically they play important roles. They are considered as IUCN- Endangered species and generally endemic to North East parts of India. All the weird looking members were busy in making noise to each other in a dumping site. Pics was taken near the Dipor Beal side in Guwahati, Assam, India.

Great thing about desert around Dubai is that the sand is orange with very thin layer of red sand on the top which adds additional richness to the overall color. Desert safari in Dubai is very touristic thing to do, but it is big fun too. They generally stop at some lovely place just before sunset and give you a chance to take some photos with a wonderful light too.
A trip to the desert offers a real adventure into the magnificent landscape of the unique sands of Arabia. This safari tour takes you right into the heart of the desert where you experience the excitement of a roller-coaster tour down the astonishing high dunes. A stop for a breathtaking view of the endless desert gives an opportunity to watch the sun-set over this tranquil scenery.

Lucerne / Luzern is a city in Switzerland. It is the capital of the Canton of Lucerne and seat of the district with the same name. With a population of 76,156, Lucerne is the most populous city in Central Switzerland, and a focal point of the region. Due to its location on the shore of Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee), within sight of Mount Pilatus and Rigi in the Swiss Alps, Lucerne is traditionally considered first and foremost as a tourist destination. One of the city's famous landmarks is Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), a wooden bridge first built in the 14th century. It has also been voted as the 5th most popular tourism destination in the world in 2010 by Tripadvisor and has private hotel schools most notably on the shores of lake Luzern in Kastanienbaum.
Jesuitenkirche (Jesuit Church) is the first large sacral Baroque church in Switzerland; constructed in 1666 by Father Christoph Vogler for the Jesuits. The vault was redecorated in the mid-18th century. The original vestments of Brother Klaus, a famous Swiss patron, are stored in the inner chapel.
Slightly different angle than on the last post. You can see by that wet and reflecting ground that it must have raining heavily and it really was - I was standing there with large borrowed umbrella above my camera and many people probably thought I must be crazy - well you dont have choice when you travel, rain, no rain - luckily it was around 30C that evening so the rain was somewhat refreshing :-)

The Charles Bridge - Karlův most - is a famous historic bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished in the beginning of the 15th century. As the only means of crossing the river Vltava (Moldau) until 1841, the Charles Bridge was the most important connection between Prague Castle and the city's Old Town and adjacent areas. This "solid-land" connection made Prague important as a trade route between Eastern and Western Europe. The bridge was originally called the Stone Bridge (Kamenný most) or the Prague Bridge (Pražský most) but has been the "Charles Bridge" since 1870.
One of the iconic photos from Prague, but to get it you have to get up early as usual. I thought we might be the only people there in the morning, however several other photographers were there as well, together with some small groups of foreigners (rather drunk) returning from the nearby dance club.

Al Mukhala - is the capital of Hadramout and one of Yemen’s ports on the Arabian Sea. It was known as Khaisa or Bandar Yakoub and has been called Mukalla only recently.
Fishermen were the first to settle in Mukalla, having immigrated from adjacent regions, In this city, the first Princedom of Al-Kasad was established in the 18th 19th century AD, This prosperity gave this city the architectural style of Coastal cities which lie on the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea such as Aqaba, Jeddah, Hodeidah, Mokha, Luhayya, and Aden. All these cities lost their original style, which may now be seen only in the old ‘downtown’ of Mukalla city. It is a style combining the features of Arabian and south-east Asian architecture. Mukalla’s Prominent Features Ma’een Palace, which was built by Sultan Omer Bin Awadah Qu’aiti. Mukalla Archaeological Museum now occupies a part of this palace.

Egypt - Luxor - Hot air balloon flight over Nile West Bank & Temples in Valley of the Kings - طيبة - UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site on banks of river Nile - الأقصر - al-Uqṣur
See ancient Luxor from a different angle. Imagine drifting silently over temples at dawn, not only seeing ancient sites and ruins but also villages waking up in the early morning sun. Sail through the air over sugar cane fields and temples. See desert land and the Nile in the distance. See if you can spot Medinet Habu, the Ramesseum, Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon or maybe have a conversation with the locals as you drift a few metres from their rooftops. Experience the thrill of perceiving the beauty of Luxor from amidst the crease of clouds. The blue horizon as the backdrop and the colorful air balloons floating across it looks amazing in the skyline of Luxor at the break of dawn. The saffron rays of sun sweeping the city with its first shimmer and you are flying off on a hot air balloon to appreciate the wondrous beauty of the city.
This is exactly how I felt during balloon flight over Luxor. I actually had to come twice for it as the first time I booked it was too windy and the balloon could not take off. What I didn’t know was that would be hot-air balloon crash just the next day after my flight last weekend : Three Egyptian operators and 13 foreign tourists were hurt when the balloon came down during a tour of the ancient city of Luxor. Several people were taken to hospital with minor injuries after the balloon apparently hit a mobile phone mast. It is the latest of several recent incidents involving balloons in Egypt.
