The Hungarian Parliament Building (Hungarian: Országház, literally country house) is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, one of Europe's oldest legislative buildings, a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination of Budapest. It lies in Lajos Kossuth Square, on the bank of the Danube, in Budapest. It is currently the largest building in Hungary. Similar to the Palace of Westminster, the Parliament Building is in the Gothic Revival style; it has a symmetrical facade and a central dome. It is 268 m (879 ft) long and 123 m (404 ft) wide. Its interior includes 10 courtyards, 13 passenger and freight elevators, 27 gates, 29 staircases and 691 rooms (including more than 200 offices). With its height of 96 m (315 ft), it is one of the two tallest buildings in Budapest, along with Saint Stephen's Basilica. The number 96 refers to the nation's millennium, 1896, and the conquest of the later Kingdom of Hungary in 896. The main façade faces the River Danube, but the official main entrance is from the square in front of the building. Inside and outside, there are altogether 242 sculptures on the walls.

The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle of Beijing, China, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost five hundred years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government. Built in 1406 to 1420, the complex consists of 980 buildings with 8,707 bays of rooms and covers 720,000 m2 (7,800,000 sq ft). The palace complex exemplifies traditional Chinese palatial architecture, and has influenced cultural and architectural developments in East Asia and elsewhere. The Forbidden City was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987, and is listed by UNESCO as the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.
Less usual view of Forbidden Palace, I was waiting for the lights to come up over palaces of Forbidden City after sunset, however only the main gate was lit with not very strong light. I had to set much more sensitive setting to get more colors out of the Forbidden city.

The Moselle is a river flowing through France, Luxembourg, and Germany. It is a left tributary of the Rhine, joining the Rhine at Koblenz. A small part of Belgium is also drained by the Mosel through the Our.
Its name comes from the Latin Mosella, meaning the "Little Meuse" (Mosa in Latin). The river gave its name to two French départements: Moselle and Meurthe-et-Moselle.
The source of the Moselle is at the western slope of the Ballon d'Alsace in the Vosges mountains. The Moselle flows through the Lorraine region, west of the Vosges. Further downstream, in Germany, the Moselle valley forms the division between the Eifel and Hunsrück mountain regions. Its total length from source to mouth is approximately 546 km.

Col du Galibier (el. 2645 m.) is a mountain pass in the southern region of the French Dauphiné Alps near Grenoble. It is often the highest point of the Tour de France.
It connects Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne and Briançon via the col du Télégraphe and the Col du Lautaret. The pass is closed during the winter. It is located between the massif d'Arvan-Villards and the massif des Cerces, taking its name from the secondary chain of mountains known as the Galibier.
Before 1976, the tunnel was the only point of passage at the top, at an altitude of 2556 m. The tunnel was closed for restoration until 2002, and a new road was constructed over the summit. The re-opened tunnel is a single lane controlled by traffic lights which, at 2400 m., must be amongst the highest in Europe.

Red Square (Russian: Кра́сная пло́щадь, Krásnaya plóshchad’) is the most famous city square in Moscow, and arguably one of the most famous in the world. The square separates the Kremlin, the former royal citadel and currently the official residence of the President of Russia, from a historic merchant quarter known as Kitay-gorod. As major streets of Moscow radiate from here in all directions, being promoted to major highways outside the city, the Red Square is often considered the central square of Moscow and of all Russia.
Directly opposite the Mausoleum, on the eastern side of the square, lies the building which houses Russia's most famous shopping mall - the State Department Store, GUM. Since the fall of communism, several other shopping centers and hypermarkets have sprung up to rival it in prestige, but GUM retains its status as a consumer Mecca for visitors to Moscow.
Main Department Store or GUM (ГУМ, pronounced as goom, in full Главный Универсальный Магазин, Glavnyi Universalnyi Magazin) is a common name for the main department store in many cities of the Soviet Union and some post-Soviet states. The most famous GUM is a large store in Kitai-gorod of Moscow, facing Red Square. During Christmas time the whole GUM building is lit with thousands of lights and I was lucky to capture it with such a beautifufl sunset.

I joined a local camera club last year and it's got me thinking about genres of photography other than landscape.
When I saw this scene I had the title in my head straight away I just had to wait for some passers by to move out of the plaza.

I joined some friends for some rock climbing at Wye Creek, which is about 20 minutes from Queenstown. We hiked up the mountain for about 45 minutes before the rock climbing began. I didn't do any of that... I mostly just hiked around and took photos. Here's one I took of my friend Rene out on the edge of this cliff... he's always doing risky things like that. He doesn't even care about the photo op... he just likes doing crazy stuff.

Indonesia - Flores Island - Birds view over Incredibly Volcanic Island - The cone shaped volcanoes on Flores are still potentially and demonstrably active
Flores Island is lying east of Bali in East Nusa Tenggara. It is about 2 hours flight from Denpasar - Bali. Centuries earlier, Portuguese explores discovered it as the jewels in the neckless of Indonesia Islands and gave the island its lyrical name "Cabo das Flora" means "Cape of Flowers" after the beautiful coral formations that shimmer in her crystal sea.
About 70 millions years ago, due to a collision between the Australian - Indian Ocean plate and Eurasian plate, large volcanoes erupted. These volcanoes slowly merged together to form the green jewel on Flores. The cone shaped volcanoes on Flores are still potentially and demonstrably active.

Ed. Colonia is a group art exhibition and the first of its kind at the GBTH.
The idea behing Ed. Colonia was exploring further the format of group exhibitions, preserving each artist's individuality as we occupy a common space. No theme has been suggested, since the limitations of the apartments were restraining enough. Each floor, inhabited by a different artist, is an exhibition on its own. The lack of front doors encourages the visitors to walk inside and explore.
A group of artists is also referred to as a colony of artists, which inspired the title of this show. Simple and straight forward enough to leave room for the installations shine and speak for themselves.

The Capitol Hill (Colle del Campidoglio), which nowadays hosts the Municipality of Rome, was the eldest fortress in Rome and here was the Temple of Jupiter. The current arrangement of the Piazza belongs to the XVI century and was prepared by Michelangelo Buonarroti, who planned two of the palaces delimiting three sides of the square, the wide stairway who leads to the top of the hill on the fourth side and the geometric drawing on the ground floor, built in recent times following the original project. In the middle of the square was placed the equestrian statue of emperor Marcus Aurelius, now replaced by a copy. The three palaces (Palace of Conservatori, Palace Nuovo and Palace Senatorio) host the Musei Capitolini (Capitoline Museums) with a plentiful collection or archaeological remains of ancient Rome.
