Jetstream T.1 XX496 was one of 26 aircraft ordered from Scottish Aviation Ltd at Prestwick for multi-engined pilot training in the RAF. This aircraft, in No. 45 Squadron markings, notched up 11,368 flying hours and made 32,567 landings before its final to the RAF Museum, Cosford, in March 2004.

Passed by this 9-foot bronze statue of Harry Jerome many times but until now, I've never taken a photo.

I was struck by the cloud behind him. To me, it was the vapour trail left behind him as he was blazing down the track. He set several world records back in the late 50's. Though now it kinda looks like a cape too. :)

Of course the lighting on Vancouver's downtown core was appealing too. Especially the reflected sunburst. I'll upload a nice colour version from a slightly different vantage soon. Probably.
