XX 486 Jetstream from the RN's Fleet Air Arm departing RIAT 2010 on what will probably be its last visit
Royal Navy Jetstream seen low level in the Mach Loop. I only ever shot two of these at LL and they were both on the same day, five minutes apart. 02/03/2004.
Jetstream T.1 XX496 was one of 26 aircraft ordered from Scottish Aviation Ltd at Prestwick for multi-engined pilot training in the RAF. This aircraft, in No. 45 Squadron markings, notched up 11,368 flying hours and made 32,567 landings before its final to the RAF Museum, Cosford, in March 2004.
XX494 was a Jetstream T.1, an aircraft designed and initially built by Handley Page. The RAF ordered 26 examples from Scottish Aviation, which included a mix of already built frames, some part completed and some that were completely new, XX494 being the first constructed from scratch at Prestwick.

Passed by this 9-foot bronze statue of Harry Jerome many times but until now, I've never taken a photo.
I was struck by the cloud behind him. To me, it was the vapour trail left behind him as he was blazing down the track. He set several world records back in the late 50's. Though now it kinda looks like a cape too. :)
Of course the lighting on Vancouver's downtown core was appealing too. Especially the reflected sunburst. I'll upload a nice colour version from a slightly different vantage soon. Probably.

Alias: Jetstream
Real Name: Ian Rathais
Allegiance: Villain
Powers: He is able to concentrate his self generated thermo-kinetic energy and super-heated plasma energy through both ends of his staff. When focused and released beneath him, it would create a thrust to aid him in jet-like propulsion, allowing him to go into the air. He also has jet thrusters on his boots that he can use in short bursts to move forward.
Status: Alive and well, committing various crimes with Flyra. Currently not in prison.
